Oklahoma City Letterboxes by Dennis Williams
I have placed the following letterboxes in the Oklahoma City area, places that I enjoy in New Mexico , and at a research station in the cloud forest in Costa Rica . I even placed one in Alabama when I was on a work trip. I intend to place more in all of those areas (except probably Alabama). These are my Oklahoma City Letterboxes. Be sure to replace all the boxes where you found them, as you found them (or in better shape if they were clearly visible or scattered)so that everyone else has the same opportunity to try to find them.
North Canadian River (9)
The North Canadian River crosses Old Route 66 just west of Bethany, Oklahoma. To the south of that junction lies Lake Overholseran early 20th century public water supply lake now so silted in that its deepest part in the 1980s, the last time it was surveyed, was only 15 feet. To the north lies Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge. I've planted several letterboxes in this location. The refuge has a detailed map available from the the Oklahoma City Police department, but is clearly visible on the Bethany, OK 7.5' map put out by the USGS. Its latitude and longitude fall approximately at 35° 32 N and 97° 40 W.
Stinchcomb East Letterboxes (5)
Stinchcomb East letterbox set. Currently that set includes Streetcar Lake, Cross of Enlightenment, Beaver's Bluff, Wizard's Roost and Kokopelli. Clues to these boxes which are easy to moderate and the terrain easy for the ambulatory to follow. They are all on the east side of the North Canadian River.

Pentagon Report Reveals Multiple
Blasts in Oklahoma City Bombing
According to the March 20, 1996 issue of Strategic Investment newsletter, a classified Pentagon study confirms that the Oklahoma bombing was caused by more than one bomb. A classified report prepared by two independent Pentagon experts has concluded that the destruction of the federal building in Oklahoma City in April 1995 was caused by five separate bombs. The two experts reached the same conclusion for the same technical reasons. Sources close to the Pentagon study are reported to have said that Timothy McVeigh did play a role in the bombing but peripherally, as a "useful idiot." We reported in Freedom Network News at the time that seismograph readouts at the University of Oklahoma indicated more than one blast impulse. Independent ordnance experts, including a Navy Commander, unanimously agreed that a car-bomb with low intensity fertilizer explosives could not have inflicted such extensive damage to the building and that it was highly likely that high-intensity explosives had been wired directly to the columns. Our suspicion then as now is that it was an "inside job." But by whom is the mystery. Strategic Investment reports that the multiple bombings had a Middle Eastern "signature." Others find the whole business to be extremely fishy because of the fact that no ATF or FBI agents were in their offices at the time of the blast [about 9:05 a.m.] — and that evidence pertaining to both Waco and Mena had been stored there.

New book contains McVeigh's first public comments on bombing Timothy McVeigh said he was willing to become a suicide bomber and drive his van into the Alfred P. Murrah federal building , according to a new book on the murderous militiaman. He also referred to the children killed in the Oklahoma City bombing as 'collateral damage' and expressed remorse only that their deaths damaged his cause . McVeigh's comments, and the book itself, didn't sit well with some relatives of bombing victims.

The Oklahoma City bombing was a terrorist attack against the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building , in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma At 9:02 a.m. on April 19 , in the street in front of the Murrah building, attackers exploded a rented Ryder truck containing about 5,000 lb (2,300 kg) of explosive material. The bomb was composed of ammonium nitrate , an agricultural fertilizer, and nitromethane , a highly volatile motor-racing fuel. Timothy McVeigh was arrested by an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman within an hour of the explosion. At his trial, the United States Government asserted that the motivation for the attack was to avenge the deaths of Branch Davidians at Waco, Texas , whom McVeigh believed had been murdered by agents of the federal government. The attack was staged on the second anniversary of the Waco incident. In all, 168 people were killed in the bombing, which made it the worst terrorist attack on United States soil prior to the September 11, 2001 attacks

The Oklahoma City Bombing Timothy McVeigh was executed June 11, 2001 for his role in the April 19, 1995 bombing in Oklahoma City which killed 168 people
Timothy McVeigh was executed June 11, 2001. From staff and wire reports Updated: May 26, 2004 On April 19, 1995, at 9:02 a.m., an explosion ripped through the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Okla. It was the worst terrorist attack ever undertaken on American soil. The blast killed 168 people - 19 of them children - and injured hundreds. About 90 minutes later, Timothy McVeigh was stopped by an Oklahoma state trooper who arrested him on a firearms charge. Two days later, shortly before he was to be released, McVeigh was charged in the bombing. His friend Terry Nichols was arrested in Kansas, and formally charged with the bombing on May 10. Both men were indicted on murder and conspiracy charges, and the case was moved to Denver where McVeigh and Nichols were to be tried separately. Selected stories
