107. Ohio CVC
Alliance of ohio businesses and trade organizations who oppose governmentmandated fuel efficiency requirements.
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/junder29/
Ohio Coalition for Vehicle Choice
Welcome to the World Wide Web home page for the Ohio Coalition for Vehicle Choice. We're delighted you stopped by for a visit. Ohio CVC is a coalition of about 120 Ohio businesses, trade organizations, associations and groups who believe consumers, and not government regulation, should dictate choice in the automotive marketplace. We are opposed to arbitrary increases in the federal Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards. Higher CAFE standards result in higher prices for the cars and trucks we drive, and it cheats consumers of the right to choose vehicles that meet their needs and lifestyles. CAFE means downsizing vehicles to meet artificial, federally imposed miles-per-gallon standards and that represents a safety concern. Lighter cars and trucks expose motorists to greater risk of more serious injuries and death on American highways. Does that have implications for higher insurance rates and increased health care costs? You bet. And CAFE has its economic impact, too. CAFE threatens not only Ohio jobs in the auto plants, but it jeopardizes the jobs and economic stability of the hundreds of small satellite industries that depend on the vitality of our auto and truck producers. We think you need to know a little bit more about CAFE and how it affects you and your family. We've included an e-mail link so you can correspond with us. And our National CVC office in Washington has a web site that makes ours pale by comparison. We've got a link to them, too.
