Cincinnati businessman takes reins of statewide think tank Mr. Conaton, who has chaired the Xavier University Board of Trustees in Cincinnati for 13 years, succeeds Richard Glowacki, a Toledo businessman and former state school board member, who was interim chairman since September. The unanimous vote for Mr. Conaton came today during the regular meeting of the New Ohio Institute Board of Trustees in Columbus. "Mike Conaton has an impressive record in business and civic endeavors," said New Ohio Institute President Andrew G. Benson. "His background and interests fit perfectly as we move forward with our research and civic agendas." Mr. Conaton, a member of the New Ohio board since January 1997, was nominated by a search committee of board members. Mr. Glowacki, a member of the search committee, said Mr. Conaton was an obvious choice to succeed him. "The New Ohio Institute is now in a unique position to rise to the next level of public policy research and visibility," said Mr. Glowacki. "It is my expectation that many more groups will rely on New Ohio for policy research and guidance."

The Kidney Foundation of Ohio is governed by a Board of Directors which, for 2004, seats 33 members. In addition, the Foundation seats a 24-member Medical Advisory Board which makes recommendations to the Board of Directors and Staff on the ever-changing renal healthcare field. Each of the chapters are governed by a local Board of Directors in their respective county . The Foundation also maintains affiliations with several other councils and organizations on local, statewide and national levels. Each of the Boards utilize various committees to distribute duties and responsibilities and to encompass a diverse range of ideas and expertise.

Satisfactory Completion:
Participants must have paid full tuition, signed in, attended all sessions of the conference they have indicated, completed an evaluation, and signed out, in order to receive a certificate of completion and/or a letter of completion. Participants not fulfilling these requirements will not receive a certificate and letter of completion. Failure to sign in or out will result in forfeiture of credit for the entire conference. No exceptions will be made. Certificates and letters of completion will be sent approximately 4-5 weeks after the conclusion of the conference.

In 1978, AHEC was initiated in Ohio to promote primary care practice and to educate students in the medically underserved areas of the state. The Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine participates with the six other Ohio medical schools in implementing the AHEC Program, which was established to support undergraduate and graduate medical, nursing and allied health educational programs in rural and inner city settings.
