Find out more about boarding life at our school. Boarding News Archives February 3, 2004 Winter weather and numerous athletic contests necessitated dormitory activities that were local this past weekend. Friday night, students watched a basketball game on campus and then headed out to St. Clairsville, Ohio to watch a late movie. But several boarding students and boarding department faculty spent the evening in a much colder place. Dormitory students Sam A. Morgan Wann Jack Waddell. and Gene T., along with some day students, participated in an overnight camping trip at the Linsly Outdoor Center. Mr. DiOrio and Mr. Kutrovac along with L.O.C. director Mr. Hasis and crew chaperoned the Outdoor Adventure Club outing. Students arrived Friday evening, hiked to a perfect nearby camping location, and set up camp under a beautiful moonlight-filled sky. After cooking dinner, students spent the rest of the evening playing cards, telling jokes and stories, and enjoying the company of each other. The following morning, students crawled out of their snow-covered tents to a warm breakfast of oatmeal, bagels, and hot chocolate. After eating, campers packed up their belongings, took down their tents, and headed back to the L.O.C. campus. Students spent the remainder of the morning and early afternoon sled riding and playing ultimate Frisbee. As the trip ended, exhaustion was evident on the students’ faces as a result of the many fun-filled activities of the weekend. Despite their exhaustion, all agreed in the enjoyment of the trip. | |
