Education Week of March 29, 1999 Two speech students qualify for national competition Special to the Daily Press Two Moffat County High School speech team members qualified for the national speech tournament in June. Shannon Schaefer will represent Moffat County in the original oratory category. This is the second year Schaefer has qualified for nationals in oratory. Schaefer also placed first in national extemporaneous speaking, but chose to participate in original oratory. Sophomore Ben Koucherik will represent Moffat County in the category of dramatic interpretation of literature. The national tournament will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., June 12-18.
