Data definitions will be developed outlining the meaning and specific characteristics, like format and length, of commonly used fields. North Dakota has found that sharing information can be difficult, if not impossible, if key fields cannot be used to match records across systems. Arrests cannot be easily matched to dispositions because the arresting agency uses a different number than the courts to track the charge. Sentencing information originating with the state's attorneys and the courts is used by corrections agencies and BCI. By identifying data standards, systems can be built or purchased that conform to the standards, facilitating the sharing on information. As long as systems meet the standards, agencies can pursue development and implementation efforts knowing that their system will be compatible with others.

People With Disabilities Work In Agriculture
For most of the over three million Americans earning their livings in agriculture, the work is not just their livelihood, it is their way of life; a productive and satisfying way of life of which they are very proud.
The Problem
Agricultural production is hazardous. The USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service estimates that more than 200,000 farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural workers experience lost-work-time injuries and occupational illnesses every year, approximately five percent of which have serious and permanent results. Off-the-farm injuries; health conditions, such as heart disease, arthritis, or cancer; and aging disable tens of thousands more. The Breaking New Ground Resource Center estimates that more than 500,000 persons working in agriculture have physical disabilities that interfere with their ability to perform essential tasks on the farm or ranch. Additionally, thousands of children born into agricultural families have disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and epilepsy. Physical and attitudinal barriers often prevent these children from participating fully in farm and ranch operations, and from engaging in social and recreational activities enjoyed by other rural youth. The majority of people with disabilities who work or live in agricultural settings want to continue to do so despite their disabilities. All too often, however, they are frustrated in their attempts. Rural isolation, limited personal resources, gaps in rural service delivery systems, and inadequate access to agriculture-oriented assistance are among the obstacles they face.

Program Description
The principal purpose of the Educational Leadership Program is to provide professional/academic education for individuals preparing for leadership and mid-management administrative positions (i.e., elementary school principal, secondary school principal, community education director, staff administrative positions (i.e., school district business managers, technology coordinators, curriculum coordinators), and upper-echelon administrative positions (i.e., superintendent of schools). The organization of the program follows the Transformational Leadership Process of development. The instructional program focuses on the development of professional and personnel knowledge, skills, and dispositions using appropriate adult learning strategies. The program is built around several mutually supportive, interdependent curricular area dimensions that reflect intended programmatic outcomes found in the NCATE [ELCC] standards and state programs in Minnesota and North Dakota. Performance based assessment is found throughout the program and integrated into the development of students. The program is based upon student demonstration of competency through a culminating portfolio. Selected performance based assessments accompany each class. In addition to the course requirements for performance based assessments, all students are required to complete a portfolio using exhibits from their courses, their practica, and fieldwork to insure all competencies are demonstrated.
