Modifications to the basic design will be made based on feedback and experience using the system over time. Eight Features of the Revised Monitoring Process
  • Differentiated Reviews. The overall monitoring process will establish differentiated levels of review. By "differentiated" the Task Force means that, based on information provided in the self-assessment process, previous monitoring, or dispute resolution proceedings, local special education units or residential facilities will fall into one of three possible levels for the monitoring process. The three review types are: 1) verification review; 2) collaborative review; 3) facilitated review. The first time through, each unit will participate in the collaborative review process.

For more than 30 years, migrant families have traveled to and within North Dakota, primarily to work in our state's sugar beet and potato fields. During that time, the Migrant Education Program has provided these families with high quality education and support services intended to improve deprivation caused by frequent mobility and poverty. Over the years, our summer school programs have implemented a distinct and integrated approach to addressing the needs of these migrant students. A migratory agricultural worker means a person who, in the preceding 36 months, has moved from one school district to another, or from one administrative area to another within a state that is comprised of a single school district, in order to obtain temporary or seasonal employment in agricultural activities (including dairy work) as a principal means of livelihood.

Description In North Dakota, attitudes about child care are changing. By teaching the teachers, the Infant/Toddler Enrichment Program is helping to improve the quality of child care throughout the state. Anyone who takes care of infants and toddlers is a target for the program. A network of child care trainers works to educate caregivers and parents, and encourages the long-term retention of child care workers. "You can’t believe the difference in child care," said one trainer. "The women’s attitudes about the importance of the job, using the knowledge, the atmosphere. . .the interaction is different." Partners The members of the Infant/Toddler Enrichment Program include:
