Focused on personal growth and developing healthy relationships with an extensive wilderness trip program in the Adirondack mountain and lake regions of new york state.
http://www.nccamps.com/
Our purpose is to offer our campers and their counselors an extended opportunity to live together simply in safe, healthy, cheerful, yet challenging outdoor surroundings. We believe in introducing children to a camp community where they have a say in what takes place; where life is dynamic and purposeful, yet unhurried; where they can develop skills at their own pace; where they can find their own style and self-worth without excessive competitive tension; where adventure is real, yet carefully supervised; where learning is the result of participation. We are eager to sharpen children's awareness of the wilderness environment, to work with them in finding sensible ways to preserve it. Learn about the North Country Camps, its leaders, and the philosophies that provide the framework that makes this a great program for children. We offer a wide variety of activities including canoeing, sailing and kayaking on our private waterfront; and hiking, field sports, arts, crafts, woodworking and photography. Learn about opportunities for older campers including our NCC West, Work Group, and Leadership Trainee Programs.

The Regions of Western New York Although we view Western New York as one community, for your convenience we have divided the 17 counties area into six regions as shown on the map below. If you have a specific destination in mind, this page (or our search page) are the quickest ways to find it. Note: These are not the same as the "official" regions that the State of New York Tourism Dept. uses to divide its "Vacationlands", but they make more sense to us. Of course, any such division must be somewhat arbitrary, so after you explore the region you are interested in we encourage you to look at what is available in neighboring regions. The distances are not that far and the scenery is great! You may click on the map or the links below to find out more about each region.
