The Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, credit and public accommodations on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, age, physical or mental handicap, or serious medical condition. The division accepts complaints of discrimination and investigates those complaints to determine if there is a prima facie case of discrimination. The division also offers an educational program to employee and employer groups on unlawful discrimination so as to prevent discrimination in the workplace.
