Holocaust Education Holocaust Commission Holocaust Remembrance Day Kristallnacht Memorial Night L. 1994, c.13, s.1. 18A:35-27. Findings, declarations 1. The Legislature finds and declares that:
a. New Jersey has recently become the focal point of national attention for the most venomous and vile of ethnic hate speeches.
b. There is an inescapable link between violence and vandalism and ethnic and racial intolerance. The New Jersey Department of Education itself has formally recognized the existence of the magnitude of this problem in New Jersey schools by the formation of a Commissioner's Task Force on Violence and Vandalism. c. New Jersey is proud of its enormous cultural diversity. The teaching of tolerance must be made a priority if that cultural diversity is to remain one of the State's strengths.
d. National studies indicate that fewer than 25% of students have an understanding of organized attempts throughout history to eliminate various ethnic groups through a systematic program of mass killing or genocide.
e. The New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education, created pursuant to P.L.1991, c.193 (C.18A:4A-1 et seq.), several years ago expanded its mission to study and recommend curricular material on a wide range of genocides. The Holocaust Commission is an ideal agency to recommend curricular materials to local districts.

New Jersey
One of the original thirteen states of the American Union . It ratified the Federal Constitution on 18 December, 1787, being preceded only by Delaware and Pennsylvania. The capital of the state is Trenton. The extreme length of New Jersey from north to south is 160 miles, its extreme breadth 70 miles, and its gross area 7815 square miles. It is situated between 38° 55' 39" and 41° 21' 19" N. lat., and between 73° 53' 51" and 75° 33' 3" W. long. It is bounded on the north by New York State, on the east by the Hudson River and the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by Delaware Bay, and on the west by the Delaware River. In 1910 the population was 2,537,167 (1,883,669 in 1900), the state being thus, notwithstanding its large mountainous and forest areas, more densely populated than the most fertile of the prairie states or the great manufacturing States of New York or Pennsylvania. New Jersey has, in proportion to its area, more miles of railway than any other state, the majority of the eastern trunk lines traversing it. Its farms yield a larger income in proportion to the area cultivated than the richest states of the Mississippi valley. In manufactures it ranks sixth in the Union. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS CIVIL HISTORY Christian creeds commonly called the Apostolical Athanasian , and Nicene Calvinists from Presbyterian and Congregational communities, and occupied mainly land in Newark, Elizabeth, and upon the north shore of Monmouth county. the valley of the Delaware remained unsettled. The College
The College of New Jersey is a highly selective institution that provides students with an opportunity to participate in a unique community of learners. This community calls upon its members to strive for excellence and to develop the objectivity and capacity for change. It also calls upon them to participate in service to others and exhibit a respect for and appreciation of others. Chartered in 1855 as the New Jersey Normal School, TCNJ is the oldest of the state's public colleges.  The College offers more than forty liberal arts and professional programs through the college's seven schools: Art, Media, and Music; Business; Culture and Society; Education; Engineering; Nursing and Science. The College serves approximately 6,000 undergraduate students, 95% of whom are New Jersey residents. The School of Nursing
Established in 1966, the School of Nursing consists of the Division of Professional Nursing Education and Practice (undergraduate) and the Division of Advanced Professional Nursing Education and Practice (graduate). All nursing courses are taught by well-qualified faculty who are experienced and proficient in scientific foundations and clinical applications of nursing. State-of-the-art professional instruction emphasizes that nursing is centered on caring for people. The curriculum reflects this emphasis in clinical nursing practice courses that begin in the sophomore year and become increasingly complex. Students work with children, adults, childbearing families, and the elderly in a variety of settings including acute care hospitals, using sophisticated technology and community agencies dealing with individual, family and community health care needs. Outstanding opportunities to gain valuable clinical experience are available because of excellent relationships with area hospitals, mental health clinics, nursing homes, home health care agencies, schools, and senior citizen centers.
