Learning Center, a communitybased educational and vocational Greater new York and Northern new jersey s headquarters is Retail stores located in new York City
    http://www.goodwillny.org/
G oodwill Industries is a leading provider of vocational, youth and community redevelopment services for people with disabilities and other special needs in New York and Northern New Jersey. Its mission is to expand opportunities and job capabilities for people outside the mainstream workforce, whether they are mentally or physically disabled, economically disadvantaged, recent immigrants, unskilled workers or urban youth. The agency operates its programs in the five boroughs of New York City and the metropolitan area, including Long Island and Northern New Jersey. G oodwill is one of the largest recyclers of used goods in the metropolitan region. Each year millions of pounds of donated clothing, toys and household goods are collected, processed, and sold through Goodwill's network of 26 thrift stores from New York City to Albany, and Long Island to Northern New Jersey. This system provides employment for people with disabilities, and the revenue generated by reselling the donated merchandise supports Goodwill's rehabilitative programs. Over the course of a year, the agency will help nearly 60,000 people, including about 9,400 people placed in competitive jobs, and more than 7,000 young people attending one of the inner-city schools where Goodwill runs programs. G oodwill's Industrial Contracts Division employs about 250 people per year with severe disabilities at the agency headquarters in Astoria, the Harrison, New Jersey facility, and other offsite locations. Men and women who might not otherwise have the opportunity to work can be productive and earn a modest wage in an atmosphere where they are both counseled and respected. In addition, Goodwill's GoodTemps temporary staffing services sends more than 500 people to work on a daily basis.
