Why So Valuable What Churches Existed Where New York Reformed Dutch Churches New Jersey Reformed Dutch Churches ... A Final Word One of the most valuable tools for a researcher looking for Dutch ancestors in America are the Reformed Dutch Church Records. In its infancy, this Church was referred to as the Reformed Dutch Church, but in recent times, this Church has sometimes come to be known as the Dutch Reformed Church.
Why So Valuable
What Churches Existed Where
Anytime a church record is consulted, a certain pattern is followed, whether the record is in Dutch, or has been translated into English. In English, the pattern is the date of baptism (sometimes the date of birth also), the name of the child, the names of the parents and the names of the witnesses. If the record is kept in Dutch, the same pattern is followed, only the following words are used. Kinder = Child. Ouders = parents. Geboren = Born. Gedopt = Baptized. Getuygen = Witnesses. One may ask, what church do I look for and where do I find its records? These two questions are addressed in the following two sections. Before looking at these two sections, however, here are examples of how records are kept. English Translation Example: (Schraalenburgh Reformed Dutch Church)

Site News: May/June 2004 - School is ending, the weather is warming up... it is a beautiful time of the year! Yet as we enter summer, our troops are engaged in life and death conflict half a world away. Additionally, right here at home the very fabric of our society, the institution of marriage, is being undermined. We live in turbulent times, and it is not without accident that we were born for such a time as this. The Church is called to be salt and light, to prevent decay in a sin-infected world. The Church is called to stand in the gap, to intercede for the soul of our nation and to share the love of Christ with our needy world. At USA Church, it is our prayer that the Church be strengthened and would rise up to meet the challenges of our world. We pray that brothers and sisters in Christ would join together across denominational boundaries to be what God intends for us to be - the Church of Jesus Christ being used of Him to accomplish His plans and purposes for our lives, our families, our communities, cities, our nation, and our world.

    37. Gerald Fierst : Storyteller And Celebrant For Wedding Ceremonies, Commitment Cer
Storytelling for schools, museums, libraries, synagogues, churches, clubs, and camps. new jersey.
    http://www.geraldfierst.com/
Gerald Fierst has traveled the world telling stories, celebrating the journey of life. As a storyteller, a certified celebrant, a recording artist, a writer and a teacher, he has chronicled love and marriage, birth and death, through his own words and through words that are as old as time. Whether I am working in a school filling small children with silliness, or signing a marriage certificate and sending a new couple out into their lives, whether I am on a stage performing folktales, legends and oral history, or in a living room dedicating a house to the lives it will contain, I am marking passages, making connections, exulting the moment into the universal.
While I was working in Hong Kong creating stories with fifth graders, one girl wrote,
Just to hear the birds chirp,
Which fills my mind with joyful things.
Then I slowly drift back to sleep,
Storytelling and Celebrancy awaken all of us to the possibility of today.
