    New Hampshire's Home Education Law
with Commentary by Doris Hohensee (doris@mainstream.net) I.Summary of objections:
  • Mere compliance with N.H.'s home education law results in a loss of parental rights. Although courts have upheld the primary right and obligation of parents to raise and educate their children, New Hampshire law recognizes only "the primary right and obligation of a parent to CHOOSE the appropriate educational alternative for a child under his care and supervision, AS PROVIDED BY LAW." Parents' right to educate their children has now been reduced to a choice of State-approved State-regulated educational alternatives and then only "as prescribed by law."
  • N.H.'s law requires parental 'application' not 'notification' to the State.

Chess Folder Well, my wife and I started a chess club at the elementary school and before we knew it we found our Library full of kids wanting to play chess. Since then we have participated in state team tournaments and the kids look forward to chess season each year. Here are some sites to help those with a similar interest.
    Educational Resources
These Sites have been found to contain lots of great resources for teachers and parents. Most of them will contain a list of other great resources on the i nternet. Others like the Mystic Seaport Museum, I just thought would be of interest to area teachers. There are also a few links to Web Sites about grants.
