School is a private day and boarding school for children with Attention Deficit Disorder. The Hunter school for ADD children is based in Rumney, new hampshire.
http://www.hunterschool.org/
The staff at The Hunter School has been professional and extremely supportive in our effort to provide an appropriate program for one of our students. It is a pleasure to say this student has made much progress, which has been possible through the caring and knowledgeable staff at the school. N. T., NH Special Ed. Director The Hunter School is a private day and boarding school for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and/or related conditions.
We view children with ADHD as possessing a powerful talent to learn and succeed. Children with ADD think faster and can perceive a wider range of stimuli than other children. They are, in fact, able to simultaneously perceive many things.
Thom Hartmann introduced the theory of hunters and farmers in his ground-breaking book, Attention Deficit Disorder: A Different Perception.
In its introduction, Thom Hartman states, "This book is the first I know of to present the idea that ADD is not always a disorder but instead may be a trait of personality and metabolism; that ADD comes from a specific evolutionary need in the history of humankind; that ADD can actually be an advantage (depending on the circumstances); and that, through an understanding of the mechanism which led to ADD's presence in our gene pool, we can recreate our schools and workplaces to not only accommodate ADD individuals, but allow them to again become the powers behind the cultural, political, and scientific change which they so often historically represented."

Nathaniel G. Palmer built his spacious home around the site of a smaller home believed to be the residence of his father. His unique, Greek-Revival home, overlooking Crystal Lake and Eaton’s famous Little White Church , was documented in the North Country Council’s Historic Buildings Inventory.
Nathaniel soon began taking in travelers, as well as the many visitors that came to spend their summers enjoying the mountains and lakes his house became known as The Palmer House. After Nathaniel’s death in 1899, his wife, Mary, continued to take in guests and their son, Frank continued this until the 1940’s.
In the late 1940’s, The Palmer House was purchased by the Buckelew family who started Camp Star Acres. It was later turned into a co-ed boarding school and was incorporated as The Palmer House School in 1961. The school closed in 1974.

New Perspectives - Oct, 1991 Issue Hampshire Country School
Rindge, New Hampshire Admissions: William Dickerson, Ph.D. Although the school does not consider itself a Special Purpose School, according to the material send me, it might be just the place for some children with mild emotional and/or behavioral problems. It is co-ed, works with children ages 8 to 18, has one faculty for every two students, very small classes, and professes more structure than the typical boarding school. The following was taken from the material they sent me. "Its small size and high faculty/student ratio permit a degree of personal attention and structured activity that often cannot be found in other programs. Hampshire Country School is not a treatment program, but it often works effectively with youngsters who have had social or behavioral difficulties. It is not a learning disabilities program, but it may be a good choice for certain students who have found it hard to learn in other settings. The school works with, works around, and/or tolerates a variety of idiosyncrasies and particular needs which may be seriously interfering with a child's adjustment and progress elsewhere."

DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS Al Gore lifts Howard Dean’s hand — and presidential hopes — as the former veep endorsed the former Vermont governor in Harlem yesterday. Howard Dean's reeling rivals struggled to regain their footing yesterday after the former Vermont governor landed Al Gore's powerhouse endorsement. Retired Gen. Wesley Clark even reached for Hillary Clinton's pastel pantsuit to pull himself up - saying he has not ruled her out as a running mate. Clinton, who spent Sunday telling the nation she's not jumping into the 2004 contest, quickly said it again. "She's going to fill out her full, six-year term," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines. The Democrat seen as the most wounded by Gore's surprise announcement tried to puton a happy face. "I've doubled my determination," said Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.), Gore's running mate in 2000.

Teachers in the rural Kingsburg Elementary School District in California regularly update websites with information about class assignments and activities so parents can monitor their children's learning. The E-Rate is fostering greater parental involvement in children's learning.
The Stony Brook School, a private boarding school on Long Island New York, has found that the e-mail system has dramatically enhanced communications between teachers and parents, some of whom are hundreds or thousands of miles away. E-Rate and Communities As children become technology literate, parents are clamoring to catch up. The E-Rate spurs demand for and deployment of the Internet in communities across America.
In the small rural town of Bakersfield , Missouri, the Bakersfield R-4 School District was the first to get broadband connectivity and, because of the high cost of broadband services, the schools are the only institutions in the community able to afford it.
