Back to Work Incentive Act (H.R. 444), legislation that creates personal re-employment accounts of up to $3,000 to provide unemployed Americans additional flexibility, greater choice, and more control over their employment search, as well as a re-employment bonus for those who find a job quickly. The measure, which was introduced by Rep. Jon Porter (R-NV), is a key component of President Bush’s economic growth package and will be considered by the committee in the coming weeks. “Nevada has one of the Nation’s fastest growing regions and is plagued by a growing number of unemployed,” said Porter. “I applaud Chairmen Boehner and McKeon for holding these hearings.     NEVADA HEALTH INITIATIVE ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE A Project in Collaboration with the Family Violence Prevention Fund EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
    The following recommendations are made in an effort to increase the identification, treatment, and prevention of domestic violence in Nevada: Screening The following professional boards and associations in Nevada should establish policies stating that routine screening of all patients for domestic violence risk is an expected standard of care for practicing licensed health care professionals in Nevada by January 1999:

Each respective health professional licensing board should encourage health care professionals to complete continuing education units in domestic violence in every licensing cycle for all licensed health professionals by January 1999.

    Dr. Ron Meek is the Immediate Past President of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Executive Board and currently serves as Site Manager for the Nellis Air Force Base Center of the Community College of Southern Nevada. A native of Texas, he graduated from high school at Acuff, Texas. His educational background includes: the Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education, Administration, and Agriculture; Masters of Education degree in Technical Agriculture and Vocational Education; a Bachelors of Science degree in Vocational Agriculture Education and one in Agriculture Business; and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Farm and Ranch Management. Dr. Meek's post-Doctoral work includes investment and insurance programs of study through the American College and graduation from the Texas Technological University School of Banking. His professional experience includes: Provost of the Henderson Campus of the Community College of Southern Nevada; President of Panhandle State University; President of Pueblo Community College; Executive Dean, Overseas Europe; Deputy Chancellor for the American Educational Complex; Superintendent of American Preparatory Institute; Department Head, Agriculture Department of Grayson County College; Board Member and Executive Vice President of a $250 million commercial bank; Investment and Insurance Business Owner; Auctioneer; Certified Property Appraiser; and Ranch Owner.
