A Temporary certificate may be issued when all or most requirements for a certificate can be met, except for the statutory requirements of basic skills testing, human relations trainign and special education competencies. Also, if an applicant already has a job offer from a Nebraska Sschool, a Temporary certificate may be issued. A provisional certificate is issued when all statutory requirements are met but some academic deficiency exists. Usually, this is a requirement for recent college hours which applies to persons who have permitted their certificates to lapse or who are returning to the profession after an absence. Home Educator Certification Accrediting Agencies and Associations Recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education The Secretary of Education is required by statute to publish a list of nationally recognized accrediting agencies and associations which the Secretary determines to be reliable authorities as to the quality of training offered by educational institutions and programs.
