ability grouping: See homogeneous grouping.
accountability : The responsibility of an agency to its clientele; specifically, to accomplish its mission with wise use of resources. In education, accountability is often understood to be measurable proof that teachers, schools, districts, and states are teaching students efficiently and well, usually illustrated in the form of student success rates on various tests. Accountability may be measured in terms of goals, which often state that students are to master a common core of knowledge and skills and, by implication, that school personnel are responsible for making sure students do so. Schools are judged on their results, as well as on their use of funds, productivity, and implementation of programs.
Critics argue that the practices and measures of some accountability programs are too simple and that they ignore complications caused by the social barriers that keep many schools from receiving adequate funding, especially poor and inner-city schools.

This is especially true at high altitudes where the thin atmosphere offers less protection. To help you protect your family, EPA is updating the UV Index, a daily forecast of the expected risk of overexposure to the sun, to be consistent with international guidelines developed by the World Health Organization. The revised Index features a new color scheme and modified sun exposure categories. Simply enter your city or zipcode to find out today's Index. More information Today's UV Index
