Mission
The mission of the Montana State University-Billings College of Technology is to be the College of first choice, dedicated to the development of workforce capacity by providing top quality learning opportunities and services to meet a variety of career choices and customer needs by being responsive, flexible and market-driven.
History
In 1969, the Montana State Legislature created the Billings Vocational-Technical Education Center (BVTC) to serve the postsecondary technical training needs of adults. In 1987, by order of the Legislature, governance passed from the Billings School District to the Montana University System Board of Regents, making the BVTC one of five campuses of the Montana University System for postsecondary vocational-technical education. In 1994, the BVTC officially merged with Eastern Montana College to become the fifth college of Montana State University-Billings. The merger and subsequent sharing of resources brought about new and improved student services, such as cooperative education, health services, career services, fee payment options, and credit transferability.
Nature of the Institution
The training programs offered at the College of Technology are continually upgraded to meet the changing dynamics of business and industry. Presently, 11 Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree programs, two Associate of Arts (AA) programs, 3 Associate of Science (AS) programs and 10 certificate

[see also Rules Introduction The Montana State Library staff and Commission and the Public Library Division hope that Library staff and trustees find these standards helpful. In particular, these standards are intended to:
  • Provide a tool to assess the quality and effectiveness of the library; Help each library determine areas to improve; Aid each library in taking an active role to gain maximum community support; Provide a basis for collecting useful statistics for planning and evaluation.
In addition, the Commission made a subset of these standards mandatory for the receipt of state aid. These standards are bolded. The administrative rules that govern these standards are included in the administrative rule section of this publication. This document is divided into five sections. Each begins with a general description of the topic, followed by the standards including a checklist with possible answers for self-assessment.

to the homepage of the National Center for Science Education, Inc NCSE a nonprofit, tax-exempt membership organization working to defend the teaching of evolution against sectarian attack. We are a nationally-recognized clearinghouse for information and advice to keep evolution in the science classroom and "scientific creationism" out. While there are organizations that oppose "scientific creationism" as part of their general goals (such as good science education, or separation of church and state), NCSE is the only national organization that specializes in this issue. When teachers, parents, school boards, the press and others need information and help, they turn to NCSE.
While most of NCSE's work involves defending evolution against attacks, we also work to increase public understanding of evolution and science "as a way of knowing." We also have programs to help teachers who want to improve their teaching of evolution. Here you'll find information and resources for all these activities.
