Prso finds target again for Monaco
Story Tools RELATED Fiorese keeps PSG in the hunt French standings PARIS, France Croatian striker Dado Prso capped an impressive week with a late goal to give French league leaders Monaco a 1-0 win over Ajaccio. Second-placed Lyon, who beat Bayern Munich in midweek, routed third-placed Marseille 4-1 with Peguy Luyindula scoring twice for the French champions. Prso, who scored four goals in Monaco's 8-3 win over Deportivo Coruna in the Champions League in midweek, exploited a defensive blunder on 82 minutes to break his former club's stubborn resistance. "It was not easy today against a team with 10 men in defense and on a pitch which did not make it easy to deploy our game," said Monaco coach Didier Deschamps, whose side now hold a six-point lead over champions Lyon. Prso said: "What's important is to win, even by the narrowest margin." Peguy Luyindula scored twice as French champions Lyon crushed Marseille and kept the pressure on Monaco.

"Ce n'est pas un Musée d'automobiles mais une collection personnelle de voitures anciennes de tous âges et de tous pays. Populaires ou de prestige, elles ont marqué leur époque et elles m'ont plu." RAINIER III Passionné d'automobiles, S.A.S. Le Prince Rainier III a constitué, depuis plus de trente années, au gré des occasions et de "coup de coeur", une importante collection personnelle de voitures anciennes. S.A.S.

Monaco 2003
Formula One Grand Prix
'It goes without saying that the track is made up entirely of ends, steep uphill climbs and fast downhill runs. Any respectable traffic system would have covered the track with 'Danger' sign posts left, right and centre.' La Vie Automobile, 1929
The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the world's greatest and most challenging motor-racing events; the Monaco Grand Prix is at present, the last 'street course' remaining in the Formula One calendar.
The Monaco Grand Prix is staged around the narrow, winding streets of Monte Carlo. The main attraction of the Monaco Grand Prix is the proximity of the speeding Formula One cars to the race spectators. The twisting 78-lap circuit offers incalculable opportunities for spectators to witness the thrill of screaming engines, smoking tyres and the genius of the drivers over the 263-kilometre race on a course that allows no margin for error.
The first Monaco Grand Prix was held on the 14th of April 1929. Since then, the fastest average race speed has risen from 80 kilometres (50 miles) per hour to 142 kilometres (88 miles) per hour.
The Monaco Grand Prix is the seventh in the Formula One racing calendar. The Monaco Grand Prix follows the Austrian Grand Prix and precedes the Canadian Grand Prix. The 61st Monaco Grand Prix took place at 2:00 pm on the 01st of June 2003. After a thrilling race Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya driving a Williams BMW emerged as the winner, closely followed by Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher.

Lokomotiv's Asatiani, left, and goalscorer Maminov celebrate. Story Tools CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid Celta Vigo 2-3 Arsenal Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 Monaco Sparta Prague 0-0 AC Milan MOSCOW, Russia Lokomotiv Moscow will take a one-goal advantage into the second leg of their Champions League second round match against Monaco. But Fernando Morientes stole a vital away goal for the French side in their 2-1 defeat. Marat Izmailov and Vladimir Maminov scored the goals for the home side, but the Russians will be disappointed not to have secured a more comfortable lead. Lokomotiv were comfortably leading 2-0 but Spanish striker Morientes' header on 69 minutes pulled Monaco back into the tie. Izmailov opened the scoring with a solo effort on 32 minutes, beating two defenders before firing a shot into the roof of the net. Maminov doubled the lead on 59 minutes when he beat Monaco keeper Flavio Roma with a low shot after a series of ricochets.

Tax-free Monaco rile French rivals
Story Tools PARIS, France Monaco have been accused of enjoying unfair tax advantages and of depriving other French teams of places in the Champions League. A group of leading club presidents have launched the campaign, claiming the principality's lack of income tax makes it easier for Monaco to attract star players despite small crowds. "Monaco take a Champions League place away from other French clubs," Marseille president Christophe Bouchet told Reuters. Bouchet has joined Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas and Lens president Gervais Martel in calling for UEFA to award an independent berth to Monaco in club competitions, and for Monaco to pay an entry fee to play in the French league. "Clubs like Marseille, Lyon, Lens, Bordeaux, Nantes or Auxerre are penalized," said Bouchet. "I think a deal with UEFA regarding Monaco would be the most sensible solution." Monaco, who rarely attract more than 5,000 supporters, finished second in the first division last season to qualify for this season's Champions League.

Meslin spot kick denies Monaco win
Scorer Meslin leads the celebrations after Nice grab a draw at Monaco Story Tools PARIS, France Christophe Meslin denied runaway French leaders Monaco when he fired a penalty in the sixth minute of time added on to salvage a 1-1 draw for Nice. Monaco looked set to stretch the title gap to 10 points after Fernando Morientes, on loan from Real Madrid, fired home from a Lucas Bernardi cross just before halftime to put the hosts ahead. Home defender Patrice Evra was sent off in the 59th minute for tackling Meslin when he was clear on goal and two minutes from time Nice midfielder Everson was also red carded. But Nice were handed a lifeline in the dying seconds when defender Sebastien Squillaci handled the ball in the box allowing Meslin to convert from the spot. Injury time was in plentiful supply in a match which witnessed eight bookings as well as the two sendings-off. In an entertaining but acrimonious first half - in which former Monaco star Marco Simone featured for his new club before being substituted at half time - Monaco took the lead thanks to Morientes's six-meter shot in the 41st minute.

In July, 2000, my husband, daughter, and I traveled on a 22 day tour of Europe. During that time, we visited ten countries. It was a trip of a lifetime! In these pages, I will share some highlights of what we saw. I have also added links to other sites where you can read more about various topics. In January of 2002, most of these countries, with the exceptions of England and Switzerland, adopted the Euro as their monetary unit. While we were traveling, the Euro was available and prices were given in terms of the Euro, which was very close in value to the American dollar, but it was not yet widely used. Information given about the currency values was for the time of our trip.
We left from Logan Airport in Boston at 7:00 P.M. It was about a 5 1/2 hour flight. A particularly beautiful sunrise or sunset was visible as we passed over Iceland at 1:30 A.M. We arrived at London's Heathrow Airport at around 5:45 A.M. but could not land until 6:00 because London has a strict curfew. We had to pass through customs to be sure that our passports were in order. Finally, we were on our way to our hotel. To visit each country, click on the flag to the left
