Antelope Valley N' Scalers Our scheduled display at the Lancaster Bi-Annual Flea Market has been canceled due to circumstances beyond our control. Click on the "Club Events" button for upcoming events..... In 1973 a group of enthusiastic model railroaders got together at an N scale meet in Signal Hill, California, and talked about what they could do to help interest people in N scale and to share information about N scale. The NTRAK project resulted from that meeting and the idea has spread throughout the model railroad hobby. The NTRAK modules are used to build large display layouts as well as home and club layouts. Modelers from all over the world can build modules, bring them to a show, connect to the next module, and become part of a giant N scale layout. To be sure that each module fits the next one to it, a set of standards was worked out. Over 80 clubs around the world are now using the modules for all or part of their club layouts. Some have semi-permanent quarters and others assemble the layout in space rented or borrowed for just that meeting. With careful attention to detail, quick assembly and reliable operation can be achieved. NTRAK layouts combine the beautifully detailed modules with long trains running on the two main tracks. A third track, the branch line, is used for picking up and setting out cars at the many industries along the way.

Gateway Central Project Model Railroads
Successful Train Show Small Model Railroad Layouts for public display
For almost a decade, the Gateway Division has constructed small model train layouts for display and demonstrations at local train shows. One of our most recent and exciting projects was the construction of a custom 4'x8' model railroad for the Missouri History Museum . This layout was displayed in their exhibit, "Our World in Miniature" during the Winter 2002- 2003. You can click this photo to go to the start of the over 100 photos of this layout, and each of its structures, we have added to our website. A number of the buildings have articles or tips on how to assemble that specific model kit. The next project railroad will be displayed under construction at our Annual Fall Meet and Train Show November 1, 2003.
About our project model railroad layouts
One of our favorite project railroads was the Gateway Central VI layout. It was designed around two logging industry scenes (one on each side of the layout). This side shows the paper and kraft mills with a wood chip unloading area. As with the rest of our website, click on any photo to view a larger, high-resolution version.

Continuous

for Model Railroad
Locomotives...
Welcome... As promised, here is my page detailing my use of the LM334Z
as an LED driver in Model Locomotives!
What Continuous Brightness Lighting Means Continuous Brightness Lighting tries to overcome the prevalent problem of lighting in model locomotives. The problem is that when the train starts to move the locomotive (headlight) is completely unlit, and as the train speeds up (i.e. higher voltages applied) the light gets brighter. The worst part is, even at top speed the light is usually nothing more than a dull orange glow from the outside. Some Previous Solutions There are various solutions to the problem, but so far none of them have been satisfactory from the modellers perspective. Previous solutions are almost always unsuitable for smaller scale modellers as well, simply because of the size of the solution. Voltage Regulators While voltage regulators have some acceptance in the railroad modelling community, they are a very poor solution to the problem. Most have dismal performance, and are difficult for modellers to employ. I have posted some

About the CWMR
After a number of informal round-robin gatherings of interested modelers in early 1987, the group formed the Central Wisconsin Model Railroaders, elected officers and adopted by-laws in April, 1987. On September 13, 1989, the club was incorporated in the State of Wisconsin with non-profit status being granted on Jan. 8, 1992. The club serves to bring together railroad modelers and people with related interests by providing a regular meeting place and schedule of activities to enhance participation in the hobby. Business meetings are held on the first Wednesday and social meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 P.M., in the basement club room of the Bancroft Depot Membership Requires an initiation fee and annual dues payable semi-annually on April 1st and October 1st. Junior memberships are available. The club also has fund-raising activities that include sales of club decals, decorated cars, hamburger sales, and a swap meet. Members are actively encouraged to participate in these fund raising events. Persons interested in the club are invited to become associate members by attending club meetings and events for three months after which they may be elected as members.
