Teacher Education Guidelines After a student declares a major in education, there are two levels of admission to the teacher education program: (1) tentative formal admission and (2) formal admission Application for Tentative Formal Admission Applications for formal admission to the teacher education program may be filed with the Dean of the School of Education after the student has declared an education major and successfully completed 55 semester hours of prescribed course work.
