SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA STANDARDS HANDBOOK Table of Contents Each document is available in A Note on Downloading PDF Files  Message from DESE : This information was originally created as a print document. After it was created and given to DESE to disseminate, it was discovered the cost of printing and mailing was prohibitive. In an effort to disseminate the information. the document has been translated into HTML and PDF pages. In the original print format, there were several pages inserted (i.e. ALA, AASL, and DESE documents). It was not possible to "insert" those pages in the process of converting the file to pdf. I have included links to the appropriate Internet pages in the chapters having "insert" messages or place holder pages. Once you access the pdf. pages, you may search for specific information using the "find" command and print all or selected pages. I hope this information is useful to you in your professional life. Announcement: In January 2002, we implemented a new automated circulation system. From now on, when you check out a library item, you must have a new student or faculty/staff ID card in your possession before you can check out library materials. If you don't have one of the new ID cards, drop by the IT office in Field Hall, which is located next door to the computer lab and then bring that card to the circulation desk so that we can enter you into our new automated circulation system. Bridges is the library's online catalog. Bridges is part of MOBIUS , which is a statewide union online catalog with the libraries of 51 colleges and universities throughout the state and a service that provides patrons access to library holdings of member institutions, including MBU, via the World Wide Web.
