Mississippi Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonography Schools : A directory of information about Mississippi ultrasound schools that can help you decide which ultrasound sonography schools are best for you. Diagnostic ultrasound sonography schools will provide you with the practical experience you need to use ultrasound equipment as a part of medical diagnostic processes. In addition to core training on the use of ultrasound sonography equipment, you will be trained on using the ultrasound sonography equipment in a safe and effective manner. All ultrasound diagnostic equipment should be used with close supervision by a trained physician, and ultrasound sonongraphy schools will also train you in how to work with the physician. The physician will use the results from the ultrasound to help formulate a diagnosis or to decide on further diagnostic testing. People with diagnostic ultrasound sonography school training are able to get a job as a ultrasound sonographer (these jobs are also referred to as an ultrasound technician, ultrasonographer, or sonography technician). More than half of all ultrasound sonography technicians are employed in hospitals, with the remainder working in physician's offices, clinics, and diagnostic imaging centers. As a ultrasound sonography technician, you will have the opportunity to work closely with patients, and explain to them the purpose of the diagnostic ultrasound process, what will happen during the ultrasound, and how the doctor will interpret the ultrasound results. As a certified ultrasound specialist, you will also have received the training to conduct the procedure safely, and to reassure the patient that ultrasound procedures are safe. The demand for graduates from diagnostic ultrasound sonography schools remains high, and continues to grow. Please see below for information on all of our

    SISTER LIBRARIES:
A WHITE HOUSE MILLENNIUM COUNCIL PROJECT
The National Commission on Libraries and Information Science and Sister Cities International have embarked on a major initiative, Sister Libraries: A White House Millennium Council Project. The initial goal is for public and school libraries in the United States to pair with others worldwide, focusing on programs specifically planned for children and teenagers. Participating libraries, such as the ones listed here, receive recognition and designation as official White House Millennium Council Sister Libraries, but the project does not provide funds for staff, equipment or materials. Many Sister Libraries are in locations that are already affiliated through Sister Cities International, an organization for sister city, county and state programs in the United States. SCI is the official agency that links communities from the United States with communities worldwide. The Sister Library programs will do much to encourage multicultural exchange and broaden international understanding enabling young people to appreciate more fully their own place in, and impact on, the world of today and tomorrow! U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science Designates 47 New Sites for Sister Libraries: A White House Millennium Council Project
Washington, D.C. Working with the Border Regional Library Association, El Paso Public Library, El Paso, TX, will help develop school libraries in Juarez, Mexico, as part of its Sister Libraries project. "There is already a natural bridge between the two cities. The Sister Libraries project will solidify the connection between children and teens in both countries," said Leslie Trich-Humble, Armijo Branch Manager. El Paso Public Library is the oldest library in Texas. The Delray Beach Public Library, Delray Beach, FL, is planning a joint project with libraries in Miyazu, Japan and Moshi, Tanzania to link the youth of all three communities. Using digital cameras and other technology, youth from each city will contribute information about their communities and cultures to a shared website. Building on a 33-year Sister Cities relationship with Brecon, Wales, the Saline District Library in Saline, MI, will have a special storytime about Wales on March 1, 2000, the feast day of St. David, the Patron Saint of Wales. The library also plans other programs such as a harp player performing Welsh folk songs and a Celtic crafts workshop. Children will create illustrations from their favorite books to exchange and the Saline library staff will prepare a storytime kit about Michigan folklore for the Brecon librarians. Saline District Library serves approximately 17,000 people in the townships of Lodi, Pittsfield, Saline, Freedom and Bridgewater.

His threat of a protest march on Washington forced President Roosevelt to ban segregation in the federal government and defense industries at the onset of WWII and again he forced Truman to integrate the military. Too Much Fat, Meat, Chicken, Cheese; Virtually No Non-Dairy Alternatives The National School Lunch Program gets poor marks in nutrition according to a new report released today by the nonprofit Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). In a survey conducted in August, PCRM dietitians learned that only 1 of 12 elementary school districts interviewed is substituting lower-fat, cholesterol-free plant protein for meat on school menus. And, only one of the school districts routinely offers calcium-rich milk alternatives, a surprising finding given the growing concern with milk as a potential factor in a variety of health problems. The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program that serves 27 million lunches per day. "Our research shows that the National School Lunch Program is failing to routinely serve healthy, low-fat, fiber- and nutrient-rich meals to children," says PCRM dietitian Jen Keller. "While some schools are lowering fat and making healthier vegetarian meals available, not enough have done their homework when it comes to nutrition. Given the sky-high incidences of obesity and related conditions in this country, school menus obviously need some remedial help."
