      Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) results for 2004 were released this week.  Since 1998, Minnesota schools have administered the MCA to all public school students in third and fifth grades.  These state tests were first developed as a way of tracking the district’s progress toward meeting statewide standards in the areas of reading, mathematics, and writing. For the first time in 2004, students in seventh grade were tested in reading and mathematics.
