genealogy and local history.
http://www.parkbooks.com/MnGenWeb/ramsey.html
Welcome To Ramsey County Minnesota
In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. This led to the US GENWEB of which Minnesota is a part. My name is eval(unescape('%76%61%72%20%73%3D%27%61%6D%6C%69%6F%74%6D%3A%61%62%65%6B%61%6D%40%6E%61%70%6B%72%6F%62%6B%6F%2E%73%6F%63%6D%27%3B%76%61%72%20%7A%3D%27%27%3B%66%6F%72%28%76%61%72%20%69%3D%30%3B%69%3C%73%2E%6C%65%6E%67%74%68%3B%69%2B%2B%2C%69%2B%2B%29%7B%7A%3D%7A%2B%73%2E%73%75%62%73%74%72%69%6E%67%28%69%2B%31%2C%69%2B%32%29%2B%73%2E%73%75%62%73%74%72%69%6E%67%28%69%2C%69%2B%31%29%7D%64%6F%63%75%6D%65%6E%74%2E%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3C%61%20%68%72%65%66%3D%22%27%2B%7A%2B%27%22%3E%27%29%3B')) Mary Bakeman and I have volunteered to coordinate Ramsey County. Letters from Maud
A Visual Collection of Letters Written by Maud Hart Lovelace. Includes Thomas Edwards' book reviews of the Betsy-Tacy series
This visual collection of letters was assembled to provide insight into the life of Lovelace when she wrote the Betsy-Tacy series. Her letters, all addressed to Thomas Edwards, illustrate the author's attention to historical accuracy as she recalls her childhood memories of Mankato. Edwards, whose pen name was Willie Putt, was the author of the Betsy-Tacy book reviews written for the Mankato Free Press from 1940-1955. Thomas Edwards writes in one of his reviews, "Maud Hart Lovelace is in the process of becoming one of the best accepted of contemporary writers in the field of youth reading." Letters written by Lovelace to Edwards are from the private collection of the Edwards family.

About Our Family Research
My great grandfather Daniel Tarara was born January 3, 1852 in the area called “Slask” around the town of Oppeln, Germany (now Opole, Poland after WWII) and came to St. Paul, Minnesota via New York in April of 1883. Daniel’s wife Barbara Kaluza, born December 4, 1852, and their first child, a daughter, Hedwig (later married Walter Zawislak) came to America one year later. Barbara’s death certificate states her father’s name only as R. Kaluza with no information about her mother. I would like to find out more information about her parents and family. Her parents would have been born between 1790-1830, probably in the area of Oppeln, Germany.
Daniel’s father’s name was Jacob Tarara. A church marriage record (in Debie, Poland) was found which states that Jacob’s marriage took place on May 27, 1844 in Ligota Turawska to Maria Sikora, the oldest daughter of Johann Sikora of Sacreu. I don’t know if Sacreu is in Poland or Germany. Jacob was the youngest son of Joseph Tarara, a gardener, residing in Bierdzany, Poland. Jacob’s brothers and sisters are unknown at this time.
Daniel had a sister, Maria Tarara. She had a son, Thomas Tarara, born January 7, 1876 in Ligota Turawaska, Poland. Thomas Tarara married Maria Tator. They had six children. (Hedwig, Marie, Adalbert, Josef, Peter Paul, and Pelagia) Maria died February 13, 1935 in Szedrzik, Poland. Thomas died November 22, 1953 in Dembio, Poland. Pelagia Tarara married Ulrich Schmidt and is the last living child of Thomas Tarara. The last time I wrote to her was in 1985. She and Ulrich were living in Filderstadt, West Germany.

Mutiny on the HMS Bounty
In 1789, crewmembers of HMS Bounty, led by Masters Mate Fletcher Christian and Midshipman Ned Young, mutinied against the command of Lt. William Bligh. Bligh and his supporters were set adrift in the ship's launch, and against all odds, Bligh led them over 3,000 miles to safety in Batavia (now Djakarta, Indonesia). The mutineers returned to Tahiti, where some stayed and were later captured. A handful of the mutineers along with their Tahitian consorts sailed the ship to Pitcairn Island where their descendants live today. This web site will tell you much about this famous event in maritime history, about which 6 movies, 1 play, and over 2,000 books and articles have been written.

The Truth
Truth
For you say, I am rich, I have acquired wealth, and I need nothing;
not knowing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind and naked.

Revelation 3:17
They are to do good, to be rich in good deeds, liberal and generous,
thus laying up for themselves a good foundation for the future,
so that they may take hold of the life which is life indeed.

1 Timothy 6:18-19
The LORD'S curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the abode of the righteous. Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he shows favor. The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace. Proverbs 3:33-35 May God curse the house of my wicked siblings, may their evil deeds be returned ten fold. I pray this in the name of my Father and his son. Previous Page Home Page Next Page OAS_AD('Bottom');
