BAKER COMPANY The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do
something to pay tribute to our fallen comrades.
So since we are part of the only Infantry Battalion left in Iraq
the one way that we could think of doing that is by taking a picture
of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our
fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this
into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN"

Freedom is not free and the first step to maintaining freedom is reminding all, especially the children, how we attained FREEDOM. Unlike other historical museums, the Oregon Military Museum is also about the present and the future. A living tribute to those Oregonians who answer the call to participate in maintaining America's freedoms. The Oregon Military Museum is dedicated solely to the preservation of Oregon's rich military heritage. This heritage begins with the first militia company of 1843 and extends to the present time. It embraces all branches of the military. Realizing that tangible evidence of Oregon's military heritage was being neglected, lost, or destroyed, the Adjutant General of Oregon founded, with the authority of the Oregon Legislature, the Oregon Military Museum in 1974. The current 6000-sq-ft building is scheduled to be expanded to 17,500 and fundraising is underway. The museum is located at Camp Withycombe in the town of Clackamas. I recently moved to Campbellford and I am a journalist. I did a story about Harold Carlaw and his museum. He was so accommodating and friendly and his museum is so unique. I recommend anyone who has an interest in war surplus to vist. I am not a war surplus buff by any means but I found my interest magnified by a hundred fold after getting to know Harold and his museum. Like another reviewer wrote: it is not an experience you will likely ever forget. Go.

Admissions Birthday Coach House Gift Shop ... Special Events Revised 19-Nov-2003 DUNDURN CASTLE One of Hamilton's most-recognized landmarks, Dundurn Castle is a National Historic site that illustrates the life and times of Sir Allan Napier MacNab (1798 - 1862). Dundurn Castle was constructed over a three-year period, and completed by 1835. Designed by a young English Architect, Robert Wetherall, Dundurn was built around the brick shell of Colonel Richard Beasley's colonial home. Designed as a fashionable Regency style villa, Dundurn (Gaelic for "fort on the water") was nicknamed "Castle" by the citizens of Hamilton. The Castle, with its gardens, grounds and many unusual outbuildings, was one of the finest estates in the province. Today, Dundurn Castle has been restored to the year 1855 when MacNab was at the height of his career as a lawyer, landowner, railway magnate and Premier of the United Canadas (1845-56). Over forty rooms, above and below stairs, have been furnished to compare the life of a prominent Victorian family with that of their servants. Costumed staff guide visitors through the home, illustrating daily life from the 1850s. Curator: Bill Nesbitt Location: 610 York Blvd., Hamilton, Ontario L8R 3H1
