The Society's main purposes are:

History
The Cass River Genealogy Society was formed in May of 1996. The Wickson Memorial Library is a charter member. The Society became a member of the Michigan Genealogical Council in 1998.
Newsletter
A newsletter is published and distributed to all paid members. Dues Dues are $10 for the calendar year. Research The local community has a rich German heritage. Members of the society will do Frankenmuth-area research for the public for a fee of $15 per hour. Proceeds from the research are donated to the Society. The database AncestryPlus is available for use at the Wickson Memorial Library. With over 1.2 billion records in over 3,000 databases, AncestryPlus is a comprehensive online source of information for conducting genealogical and local history research. Included in AncestryPlus are the digitized images of the U.S. Federal Census from 1790 forward, the American Genealogical Biographical Index, Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, and much more. Meetings and programs Meetings are held at the library on the fourth Tuesday of the month, September - May, at 7 p.m.
