    Pathways Home Page Contents In Michigan, the following activities and programs are being used to increase parent involvement in schools: Communities in Schools of Detroit (CIS-Detroit) CIS-Detroit helps students who are in high-risk environments to overcome barriers, achieve success, and graduate from high school with the skills necessary for higher education or meaningful employment. CIS-Detroit accomplishes these goals by developing and nurturing partnerships and collaborations among existing community resources, and institutionalizing the delivery of supportive services in public schools and alternative education sites.
