Geography Mayotte is at the northern entry to the Mozambique Channel, between 45°20 longitude East and 12° and 13° latitude South. The luxurious vegetation includes a multitude of perfumed plants, fruit trees, precious woods and rare tree species. With a surface area of 376 km2, Mayotte has two main islands, Petite-Terre and Grande-Terre, and some twenty scattered islets in one of the world's most beautiful lagoons. The climate The annual mean temperature is 25°C. - Maximum from January to March (28°C) - Minimum July to September (24°C) Mayotte, protected from the easterly trade winds by Madagascar, Has a tropical maritime climate with two seasons : - Dry and temperate from May to October - Hot from November to April, with monsoons from the north-west (December to March) Thanks to these downpours, Mayotte remains green all the year round.
