For general information about the Pride audition process, please click here The Pride of Oklahoma had a fantastic 2003 football season culminating with a memorable trip to the Sugar Bowl. Pride members enjoyed a fantastic, all expenses paid, 5 day trip to New Orleans, LA. While in New Orleans, the Pride was able to enjoy the rich cultural history of the area. The Sugar Bowl pre-game and halftime performance were experiences no Pride member will ever forget. Throughout the 2003 season, Pride members participated in many exciting games, venues, and environmental conditions.

W elcome to the UT Band Program
The University of Tennessee Band Program is one of the most prestigious university band programs in the United States. Founded in 1869 , the program is known for both its outstanding concert and athletic organizations. University of Tennessee Bands have performed across the country in a variety of venues. The UT Concert Bands have performed at conferences of the Music Educators National Conference, the College Band Directors National Association, and the American Bandmasters Association, as well as in major concert halls across the country, most notably, Carnegie Hall in April 2003. The renowned 300-member "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band performs weekly to home audiences of 107,000 Volunteer fans in Neyland Stadium on the UT Campus. The "Pride" also travels to many SEC Conference football games, and is often televised on national network TV. The band has made over 40 bowl appearances and has represented the State of Tennessee at the last ten Presidential Inaugurations.

Early Residence Hall Move-In All marching band members are permitted to move into the residence halls early. You must fill-out and return the early move-in card sent to you by the Residential Life Office. You must also indicate on the enclosed form your early move-in plans. Stuff You Need To Bring All Marching Band players must use a lyre. This is not optional. If you are going to use a school instrument, we will provide a lyre for you; if you are using your own instrument, you must have a lyre! All marching band members should provide their own black shoes that you can polish, black socks, and a t-shirt that is white on the front to wear under your uniform coat. The Husky Band enters 2003 in its 74th season. Since 1929, the world famous Husky Band has been entertaining audiences ranging from the shores of Lake Washington to Australia and China. Loyal UW Alumni and other band followers can always sing along to the HMB's fight song Bow Down to Washington or Tequila! which is known to Husky Fans as the HMB's signature song. The first marching band on the campus of the University of Washington was started after two years of exhaustive efforts to establish a campus-wide band. The first rehearsal was held on Tuesday, March 5, 1901 at the University Armory. Students who participated in the band were permitted to miss compulsory military drill when it conflicted with practice. Don Myer, the bandmaster of the Seattle Military Band, led the first group.
