We hope you find this site to be fun, entertaining, educational and one that you would like to visit from time to time. You're always welcome to just come in, kick your shoes off, take the comfy chair in the corner and stay as long as you please. I'm sure you have asked yourself "Why have a gay marching band?" Well , I'll answer that with yet another question, "Why not?" I know , as a teenager, the one place I felt at home in school was the band room. All the band members were my family. I mean, lets get real! No matter what, we were ALL geeks....BAND geeks. So why not be surrounded by gay band geeks? And of course, we do not limit our membership to Lesbians or Gays. We welcome all who miss the excitement of lining up in the streets waiting to hear that roll-off whistle. This band was started back in 1987 by a female drummer who was (and still is) known for being bodacious. This woman wanted to play drums in her high school band, but couldn't ... not because she was female, but because her high school had cut the funding for the band, so there wasn't one. In protest one Friday night during what would have been the half time show she strapped herself to a bass drum , marched to the 50 yard line, stood there alone and played.......

University of Connecticut Marching Band
"Huskies", the UCONN fight song
The University of Connecticut Marching Band is the largest, most spirited organization on campus. The musicians, color guard members, and twirlers that make up the band contribute their talent unity , and pride to continue a long tradition of musical and marching excellence that belongs to the UCMB.
Performances by the band are full of visual and musical excitement. The UCMB combines exciting contemporary drill, musical and percussion features, majorette and color guard spotlights, and powerful unison presentation into a spectacular , entertaining show. Musical selections include special arrangements of popular rock, jazz, swing, show and drum corps favorites. Those who have seen the UCMB in action see why the band is called the "Pride of Connecticut".
Over the years the UCMB has performed at a wide variety of exciting events. In addition to pre-game and half time performances at UCONN football games, the band also exhibitions at several high school band competitions around the state each season. In addition, past bands have performed at several special events, including many NFL games, the 1996 World Series, and the 1993 Presidential Inaugural Parade. These events have allowed the band to gain recognition beyond its already great reputation in the State of Connecticut.
Of course, it is the hard working members and staff which makes the UCMB great. Band members are a true cross section of the university, representing every field of study at UCONN. Many members also hold positions in the important and extensive student leadership structure. On and off the field, UCMB members are the embodiment of UCONN Husky Spirit. Of course, it is the great friendships and experiences that members take with them for the rest of their lives. The UCMB is more than just a band; it is a large, close knit family in which all members take great pride.

Music, Marching, Mirth, and Merriment! Welcome to the home of the Princeton University Band we're not your high school band. You'll find us entertaining at Princeton sporting events and other gatherings throughout the year. During the Fall, the Band performs at football games. If you have never witnessed a PUB halftime show, you haven't truly lived. During the Spring, we play for other sports, including basketball, ice hockey, and lacrosse. (We have even played for the Wrestling team!) Interested in seeing us perform? A schedule of upcoming appearances and rehearsals is available. We are always looking for new members. Whether or not you play a musical instrument, if you are a Princeton student or alumnus, we invite you to join the Band Last year, we recorded an album with a whole bunch of great music. For more info, or to order, go here If you enjoy instant gratification and who doesn't check out our enormous photo album . As you will see, the orange and black plaid uniforms have no "dimmer" switch, and our performances have little in common with the traditional "Big Ten" style of marching (and Marches) found at most other schools.
