Location and Hours
The Map Collection is located on the 3rd floor of the Noble Science and Engineering Library on Tyler Mall on the ASU Main Campus. Check the campus map for library locations and visitor parking. Regular hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday: Closed Hours may vary during holidays and intersessions. The Collection
The ASU Libraries' Map Collection contains more than 200,000 maps, 20,000 aerial photographs, 2,800 atlases and reference materials related to maps and cartography, and 250 CD-ROMs. The Map Collection consists largely of contemporary maps on a wide range of geographic areas and subjects. The Collection's emphasis is on maps related to the Phoenix Metro Area, Arizona, the Southwest and Mexico. The Collection's aerial photography includes current and historical aerial photography primarily of Maricopa County and other Arizona regions. The Map Collection is a part of the ASU Libraries'

Areas of specialization include urban planning, environmental design and architecture; government documents (local, state, federal and United Nations); East Asia; and Chicano collections. Membership only requires an interest in maps of any nature and any focus. Members support the activities of the society and participate in special events and programs. Geographic Information Systems: Data available from the University of Oregon
Eugene, Oregon
The data for download through the University of Oregon is available at no charge. When possible, the metadata has been included to inform the user of the projection and accuracy. If there is an active link to the datasets, it is possible to download the file and use it immediately. If no link exists, than the data is available only at the MAP library and must be acquired in person. Additionally, if you come in to acquire data, there are staff who are trained in GIS who can help prepare datasets in order to conduct geospatial analysis. Presently, not all of the digital data available through the Map Library is cataloged.

Africa Data Dissemination Service
The African Data Dissemination Service (ADDS) provides internet access to the data collected for the FEWS project. The U.S. Agency for International Development, Famine Early Warning System (FEWS) project lowers the "incidence of drought-induced famine by providing to decision makers, timely and accurate information regarding potential famine conditions." Has digital maps for many countries showing administrative boundaries, roads, climate, land use, elevation, hydrology, railroads, spatial analysis (population clusters), vegetation (Chad only). Has maps of rainfall estimates and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) maps, agricultural production statistics (used with AGMAN), rainfall data using RAINMAN, prices using PRICEMAN. [KF]

    Search the Maps Catalogue on COPAC The catalogue of the Library's map collections is now available online through COPAC, the web catalogue of the Consortium of University Research Libraries. The best way to access it is using the the V3 experimental interface. COPAC will search the catalogues of other major UK institutions by default but you can select the option to search just the British Library holdings. The following searches are available:
    • Map Search - This has an option to search for maps with an exact or fuzzy scale and location. Not all records are correctly identified as maps so if you do not find what you are looking for try one of the following options: Author/Title search - Useful if you know the title or part of the title of an item Subject Search - Search by Subject eg. hydrology or geology
    Note that wildcards can be used e.g.
