Get the background info here. Last week on The X-Files: (what?! this isn't the x-files!) an episode craftily directed by phoebe reveals the would-be return of straight-A karen. we were left hanging, just as leonard (hypnotized by sara) was about to perform his magic and jasmine, phoebe, and stu had come jostling in. . . . . "stop!" phoebe screamed. "the man karen admires isn't leonard, it's john! if you put her back together everything will be ruined! ruined!" she screeched. "huh?" leonard turned to phoebe, his eyes swirling from sara's hypnotism. mushy karen parts dripped from his fingers. "don't listen to her!" jasmine hollered. "jasmine! you know what will happen if leonard puts karen put back together!" phoebe cried. "why, she'll not be karen at all. the karen that we know and love will be a BLACK MAMBA SNAKE!!!!! " phoebe screamed. "exactly," jasmine smiled with satisfaction.

As the danger to her children becomes more tangible, however, Orleanna slowly begins to regain her ability to act out on her own. Unfortunately, it takes the death of her youngest daughter to finally force her to regain full control of her own and her daughter's fates.

Snakes are legless reptiles, some of which have a venomous bite which they use to kill their prey before eating it. Other snakes kill their prey by constriction, for example strangulation. An old synonym for snake is serpent; in modern usage this usually refers to a mythic or symbolic snake, and in Wikipedia information about such creatures will be found under serpent. The present article deals with the biology of snakes. Snakes are closely related to lizards, which share the order Squamata. There are also several species of legless lizard which superficially resemble snakes, but are not otherwise related to them. Although they may be venomous and have a bad reputation, snakes do not prey on humans. Most snakes will attack a human being only if startled or injured. If you look where you are walking and make plenty of noise, a snake will get out of your way rather than waiting for you to step on it. In many areas, most snakes are non-venomous or have venom that is not harmful to humans, and are Colubrid. Australia is an exception - most snakes in Australia are extremely venomous and should be given a very wide berth. All snakes are carnivorous, eating small animals, birds or insects. Snakes do not chew their food. Snakes have very flexible lower jaws, the two halves of which are not rigidly attached, allowing them to open their mouths wide enough to swallow their prey whole, even if it is larger in diameter than the snake itself. Contrary to the popular myth, at no point do they "unhinge" their jaws (disarticulate their mandibular joints). After eating, snakes become torpid while the process of digestion takes place.

    THE DANGEROUS
    GREEN MAMBA SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION
    • SCIENTIFIC NAME: Dendroaspis angusticeps PHYLUM: Chordata CLASS: Reptilia ORDER: Squamata FAMILY: Elapidae LENGTH: 4-7 feet RANGE: Most of East Africa; from Kenya to Zimbabwe. HABITAT: Found usually in tropical or wooded areas. Mambas are also very good tree climbers. DIET: Feeds mostly on birds and lizards. The mamba differs from other snakes in that after striking its prey it leaves it to die. Digestion of a kill requires eight to ten hours. LOCATION IN THE ZOO:  Herpetarium
    ANATOMY
Mambas have scales on their bodies. The green in the mamba's body is used to help hide it from its enemies while resting in the trees. The mamba's jaw is adapted for feeding, with the snake's skin being elastic and it being able to dislocate. That is why the mamba can swallow prey up to four times the size of its head. SENSES
Smell is detected by the use of mamba's tongue, which picks up vibrations.
Vibrations can also be picked up from the ground through the mamba's body. LOCOMOTION
When confronted by predators, mambas prefer to flee at speeds up to 7 mph, but will strike when threatened.

    Introducing the Black Mamba
The fastest land snake in the world is the aggressive black mamba found in the southern part of tropical Africa. You might have heard stories about this snake overtaking people on galloping horses but although these snakes are fast, they aren't that fast. They can reach top speeds of 10-12 mph (16-19 km/hr) in short bursts over level ground - good luck trying to outrun one of these snakes if you tick it off!
What Does a Black Mamba Look Like?
Despite its name, black mambas aren't black. They're gray . The name comes from the color of the inside of its mouth - something it will gladly show you while it threatens you, if provoked. They can grow up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) long, which is another reason why this reptile isn't something to mess with. The snake races along with its head held high and about one-third of its body off the ground. That can be up to four feet (1.2 meters) off the ground - about chin level for some people. The black mamba is the most respected and feared snake in Africa
