Day 2
Today's touring concentrates on Malta's archaeological heritage, as well as its capital, Valetta. Though much of Malta's history is associated with the knights of the Order of St. John, there are also numerous remains that are associated with the pre-historic periods dating back more than 6,000 years. Among the historic sites to be visited today are the Tarxien temples, the underground Hal Saflieni Hypogeum at Paola and the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra temples. The afternoon touring centers around Valetta, Malta's capital, where you will visit St. John's Cathedral, the Museum of Archaeology, the Grand Master's Palace and Barracca Gardens. After having some of the remainder of the afternoon to enjoy on your own, you will rendezvous in the evening for a night tour and dinner. Overnight in Sliema. (B,L,D) Day 3
Today you will visit the island of Gozo, a relatively short boat trip from the main island, but even quieter and more rural. Among the places you will visit on Gozo are the Cathedral in Victoria, the capital of Gozo, Ta Pinu church, Dwerja, the Ggantija Temples and Calypso's Cave. Dinner will be in southern Malta.
