Mid to late afternoon arrival in Malta. Upon your arrival in Malta, you will be transferred to your hotel and have an opportunity to enjoy dinner. Overnight in Sliema, Malta. (D) Day 2
Your touring today centers around the cities of Mdina and Rabat. Your walking tour within Mdina will expose you to the impressive mix of medieval and Sicilian-Norman architecture, much of which was restored following an earthquake in 1693. Today, Mdina has only around 400 residents, with the streets seeming earily quiet. There is also little commercial activity in the city, all of which underscore its reputation as the "Silent City". Your tour of Mdina will include The Cathedral and Cathedral Museum, as well as the Museum of Natural History. Your afternoon touring then proceeds to Rabat, the commercial hub of central Malta. Here you will have an opportunity to visit some of Rabat's churches, Roman ruins and the catacombs. Dinner will be in the old city of Mdina. Overnight in Sliema. (B,D) Day 3
    Day 5

    Day 2

Today's touring concentrates on Malta's archaeological heritage, as well as its capital, Valetta. Though much of Malta's history is associated with the knights of the Order of St. John, there are also numerous remains that are associated with the pre-historic periods dating back more than 6,000 years. Among the historic sites to be visited today are the Tarxien temples, the underground Hal Saflieni Hypogeum at Paola and the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra temples. The afternoon touring centers around Valetta, Malta's capital, where you will visit St. John's Cathedral, the Museum of Archaeology, the Grand Master's Palace and Barracca Gardens. After having some of the remainder of the afternoon to enjoy on your own, you will rendezvous in the evening for a night tour and dinner. Overnight in Sliema. (B,L,D) Day 3
Today you will visit the island of Gozo, a relatively short boat trip from the main island, but even quieter and more rural. Among the places you will visit on Gozo are the Cathedral in Victoria, the capital of Gozo, Ta Pinu church, Dwerja, the Ggantija Temples and Calypso's Cave. Dinner will be in southern Malta. Overnight in Sliema. (B,L,D)
