Maine is the northernmost state in the New England region and the easternmost state in the country (the easternmost city in the United States is Eastport, Maine), bordered on the west by New Hampshire. The total area is 0.87% water. edit Demographics As of the census of , there are 816 people, 309 households, and 241 families residing in the town. The population density is 7.4/km² (19.3/mi²). There are 347 housing units at an average density of 3.2/km² (8.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.26% White, 0.12% African American Native American Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.25% from two or more races. 0.49% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
