Maine Introduction: This site is an educational service of Physician.info that is free for both consumers and providers. It is intended to provide people with educational links to help them: to find a physician in Maine (find a doctor in Maine), including information about physician practice locations and credentials: and to find which physicians are on the medical staff at which hospitals in Maine. While these resources are available elsewhere on the internet, the goal of Physician.info is to provide them all for Maine through one website. For answers to your health insurance questions, you may wish to visit HealthInsurance.info . Some of the links listed below are specific to Maine. Other links are general databases that allow consumers to narrow their search to Maine. This site is for educational purposes only. If you use this site, you agree to do so at your own risk. You should contact providers directly and get information before making any decisions. We do not recommend any specific providers. As is the case with search engine results, the quality of the websites to which the following links go varies considerably. We are not responsible for the accuracy of information on any linked websites. Links:

to Diana Haskell
Diana Haskell, a speech and language teacher and a very highly regarded teaching professional, prepared and presented an outstanding one-day workshop last November on phonemic awareness. Participants included K-3 teachers, special educators and several educational technicians. Her presentation provided a solid introduction to the works of Dr. Candice Bray and other scholars. We now have a better understanding of some of the numerous underlying skills that are essential to a child's ability to manipulate sounds and acquire the language skills necessary to facilitate reading and writing. We wish to thank Diana for this thorough and meaningful presentation. Recently, Diana accepted a new teaching position. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere best wishes to Diana in her new professional position. She will be greatly missed by the hundreds of students, parents, and faculty members who have worked with her during her many years of dedicated employment throughout this union. Joanne Beal University of Maine, Machias M. Ed. 1998
Darlene Dowling University of Maine, Machias M. Ed. 1998 Joanne sought some financial support for her take-home reading program and they responded wholeheartedly by offering to match two dollars for every one she and her students raised! Several months, many bake sales, and thousands of pennies later, the goal was met. The Mission’s assistant superintendent, Jackie Davidson, spent a day visiting the classroom and meeting all the eager readers. At the end of the day, Ms. Davidson reflected that…"this little corner of the world is a better place because a dedicated woman is working hard to make a real difference in the lives of her students." WELCOME We wish to welcome the following new staff members: SUMNER MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL Sean has a bachelor degree from Farmington. He is currently working on a master degree in education. He graduated from Central Aroostook High School. He was a substitute for Presque Isle High School last year. His subject area is math and business economics. Sean is a ski coach and instructor for Sugarloaf. He enjoys mountain biking, working with wood, and cross-country skiing.

Community Stevens High School serves 700 students in grades 9-12 from Claremont, Cornish, and Unity. The City of Claremont has approximately 14,000 residents and is situated on the Connecticut River, adjacent to Interstate 91. It is equally distanced, approximately 30 miles, from Dartmouth College and Keene State College. Both rural and suburban in nature, the city is a mixture of industrial and residential areas. Its residents represent a mixture of middle class educational and occupational levels. The community was impacted by economic troubles but has been actively working to revitalize itself. School Students are offered comprehensive, sequential courses of study in college preparatory, general education, and technical education programs. The Sugar River Regional Technical Center adds 11 additional programs to our curriculum via two campuses, one located in Claremont, the other located in Newport, NH. Transportation provided by the Claremont School District allows access to programming at both campuses. The Claremont School District is a recent recipient of a 21 Century Grant to provide supplemental services to the student body, parents, and the entire Claremont community. Accreditation Stevens High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as the State of New Hampshire Department of Education.
