How to Prepare for the AP Macroeconomics/Microeconomics > Customer Review #1: I independent studied using this book

I never took the AP microeconomics course offered at my school. I just used this book and the PR book. Overall, this book is great in that it teaches all the information needed to ace the test. However, the questions in the practice test are not reflective of those on the real test. Also, sometimes, this book delves too deeply into the subject. It provides far more information than is necessary to get a 5 on the test. It is also more boring than the Princeton Review book. Information is presented in paragraph forms rather than in bulleted form, making it more unorganized. However, knowing this book back to front will easily get the job of getting a 5 on the AP test accomplished.

AP Macroeconomics/Microeconomics: An Apex Learning Guide > Customer Review #2: Not the Best

I bought this book to review for the AP Micro-Macro exams with little consideration of other options. Id advise you to do otherwise, namely, to buy another book. To me, the review of concepts in this book seemed minmal. Although the books cover says it includes 2 sample tests, it really only includes 1 1 micro and 1 macro. Its not that Apex Learnings book is terrible, because its not I just think that, after reading some of the reviews of the Princeton Review Economics book, I regretted buying this one.

SUBJECT GROUP ECONOMICS OF THE SCHOOL FOR DEFENCE ORGANISAATION AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OF THE FACULTY OF MILITARY SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF STELLENBOSCH INTRODUCTION The complexities of the globalised world mean that future leaders must be fully empowered and possess a wealth of theoretical knowledge to make decisions in an uncertain environment. Despite the lack of a profit motive, the defence force now more than ever must be held accountable for its financial actions and decisions especially in a developing country where defence competes with departments such as health and welfare for funds. The study of economics within the broader framework of other social sciences ensures that the officer arms him/herself with knowledge to be better positioned to understand, analyze and implement strategic decisions on a micro and macro level essential for the optimal application of scarce resources.

The upper division political science courses give the student a more in-depth comprehension of the great political thinkers, the nature and actual function of the American governmental system, constitutional law and jurisprudence, international relations and the governments and politics of other lands and regions.
The department also includes a minor and courses in various sub-fields in economics. The purpose of the science of economics, as famous British economist Alfred Marshall said, is to raise up the poor. This is a Christian duty, but many well meaning Christians have either no idea or merely false ideas about how to do this. Good intentions are no substitute for sound economic theory. The economics minor gives the student the full range of economic knowledge, from economic philosophy, economic history, to advanced social teachings and technical courses.

The department has its own well-equipped Macintosh computer laboratory which you will use for the laboratory portion of the curriculum and for independent research. Students take advantage of hands-on experiential learning in the department's Macintosh-equipped Macroeconomics Analysis Laboratory. In many of your economics classes, you will use real world data to test the validity of economic theory and to explore the development of new analysis. You will learn how to use your empirical skills to critically evaluate the choice and effectiveness of policy in both the private and public sector.

In this section: Descriptions and details of undergraduate modules with links to information about teaching staff This section includes descriptions of the individual modules referred to in the Economics degree rubrics with details of any prerequisites or restrictions, and brief reading lists. Owing to timetabling difficulties it has been necessary to assign fixed times to the lectures in certain modules. While these times have been arranged to avoid clashes in popular combinations of modules, it is possible that some combinations will not be permitted. Students must, therefore, refer to the teaching timetable on the web to ensure that the modules they register for in any one year do not clash. The modules listed below are usually available but may not run in some academic years, due to teaching restrictions or other reasons. MICROECONOMICS MODULE EC500 Matloob Piracha and Maria Garcia-Alonso Stage 2 (30 credits) This core module builds on material covered in Stage 1 Economics, but deals with it at greater depth and with more emphasis on theoretical rigour. It emphasises the fundamental theoretical foundations of microeconomics, and provides concrete examples of their application. The topics considered are: consumer theory; intertemporal choice; uncertainty; measurement of welfare changes; technology and production; theories of the firm under competition; monopoly and oligopoly; game theory; general equilibrium analysis and welfare; the analysis of inequality; public goods and externalities.
