A family of committed Christians worshiping God, reaching out in love.
The word "Family" is powerful almost beyond words. "Family" is more a promise about what people can be to each other, or a way of saying what God can create out of ordinary people. That's us. Once, about 1911, we were German Lutherans on the bayou, with some stem-faced photographs concealing a deep and simple love for God. Now, we are a mix of people; single, married, young, old, seeking, finding. We know that we are brought together by God to be his people for each other. We know that Christ in our midst gives us the strength we need. We know that our church is really a servant, the image of Jesus in the community, with programs and people, hands and hearts dedicated to serving, helping, growing. We are a family. God's powerful, accepting, nurturing love makes us that family. We are the people who want to welcome you, love you, make you a part of the warmth we know, share the love of Christ and the excitement of life with Him. Welcome! Join us! Grow with us! http://www.logia.org/
LOGIA is a journal of Lutheran theology. As such, Logia publishes articles on exegetical, historical, systematic, and liturgical theology that promote the orthodox theology of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. We cling to God's divinely instituted marks of the church: the gospel, preached purely in all its articles, and the sacraments, administered according to Christ's institution. Articles and reviews often pertain to church, ministry, worship, music, Baptism, the Lord's Supper, Confession and Absolution, Lutheran and classical education, missions, evangelism, and religion in the public square, just to name a few.
LOGIA is published quarterly (not-for-profit) by the Luther Academy and is indexed in the ATLA Religion Database of the American Theological Library Association. Writers and staff are typically pastors, professors, teachers and other church workers worldwide. Departments include: Editorial Book Reviews Correspondence LOGIA Forum , and Subscription and Advertising . We also publish LOGIA Digest , appropriate as an insert to newsletters and church bulletins. See

History of Lutheranism
Lutheranism as a movement traces its origin to the work of Martin Luther , a religious scholar who sought to reform the practices of the Roman Catholic Church in the early 16th Century . What started as an academic debate quickly devolved into a religious war, fueled by the political climate of the Holy Roman Empire and strong personalities on both sides. As a result, followers of Luther's "Evangelical" movement were given the derogatory label "Lutherans", which was adopted as a badge of pride amongst the followers. Luther also sparked a larger split within the Roman Catholic Church, such as the reform movements lead by Huldreich Zwingli and John Calvin . For this reason, Luther is also known as the father of the Protestant Reformation , and the larger movement of Protestantism The Lutheran movement was bolstered by the work of several reformers, primarily among the early leaders was

Scouting for Lutheran Youth
The Record
Lutheran congregations have used the Scouting program locally for more than 70 years. Scouting has been recommended at various times to constituent congregations by their respective church bodies as a viable resource for ministry with children, youth, and families. There are more than 150,000 Lutheran youth members in more than 4,300 Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, Varsity Scout teams, and Venturing crews.
National Liaison
Since 1926, Lutheran congregations have been apprised by their national church bodies about the benefits to youth who participate in the Scouting program and to the congregations that provide it. To assist congregations in their ministry with youth in Scouting, the National Lutheran Committee on Scouting was formed in 1941 with representation from the Lutheran church bodies, which encompassed approximately 95 percent of the nation's Lutherans. In 1967, the work of the National Lutheran Committee on Scouting was incorporated into the Lutheran Council in the U.S.A. (LCUSA). Since 1990, official liaison with the Boy Scouts of America has continued through the Lutheran Committee on Civic Youth Agency Relationships. This committee is formed by and responsible to the youth ministry departments of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). In 1980, the National Lutheran Association of Scouters (NLAS) was formed. Incorporated in 1982, the NLAS serves as a resource to local Lutheran associations of Scouters and committees. The NLAS has a regional structure consistent with that of the BSA and represents its membership on the BSA Religious Relationships Committee.

"The strongest memory is not as strong as the weakest ink." Chinese proverb
This list is an attempt to provide historical detail about families that have lived within the 28 square miles of Salt Creek Township, Franklin County, Indiana. The political entity of Salt Creek Township was created in 1850, and German Lutheran church meetings were regularly held even in those days. The earliest dates in this book go back to the 1700s. Many birthplaces in Europe are recorded. These records document about 1,400 individuals during a period of more than a century. Most of these folks have their roots in Germany. These old hand-inked Church records were written by pastors in a "blank book" using German language and script. Their hand-made record formats are anything but standardized. On this webpage, original records are condensed into a genealogy-rich format. Errors are possible. Researchers should examine the original microfilm record [US #151059] whenever possible to obtain insights into the source document. If you discover errors, please send corrections as soon as possible.

The CLC is a confessional Lutheran church body which is dedicated to proclaiming the Good News of Christ crucified for sinners. All of the CLC member churches confess that the Bible is the inspired and unerring Word of God. They confess the creeds of the Lutheran Church without qualification, as they are found in the Book of Concord of 1580. Scripture itself is the source and foundation of Christian teaching and faith The Lutheran confessions are a faithful setting forth of what Scripture teaches. The name of our church body is a witness to what we believe; it is a continual reminder of our responsibility to be truly Lutheran, and therefore Scriptural in our teaching and in our practice. This principle holds true among us: "If it is not Scripture; it is not Lutheran!" Hosted by ASKaPRO Internet Solutions
