Moving
So I'm finally taking this site elsewhere, so f*** you Tripod . The whole bit is going to be put on hiatus on my hardrive (which is why the buttons are missing, btw) until I can find another free/affordable host that doesn't create one's account at 50MB with a choice of only 1 banner or popup, then 'improve the services' to leave it at 20MB with so many adverts that one can't initially find the page :P
Anywho, as soon as I find something, I will , in fact, make the improvements I've made vague suggestions to for quite some time nowincluding getting Ikonboard back up, finally posting what has become almost 40 updates, and perhaps trying my hand at php, if not yet another experiment on the look/layout (I've gotten bored with this one).
Given that there's still, say, five people that may still come around here, if it's really that important, and it isn't , you can contact me here

LUPUS is a group of 8 sublists , by topic, which addresses the need for sharing information and support for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), discoid lupus (DLE) and associated diseases that tend to cluster with lupus. The purpose of this list and its topics is to provide the vehicle for open communication, with responsibility, and without rancor. There will be a separate list, LUPUS-KIDS, for children under 18 suffering from lupus, or who have a parent with the disease. While moderated, discussion will not be directed, although may be redirected when the majority of listowners feels it should be taken off the list and into private discussion via personal email. Moderation on the part of each and every subscriber when posting will be expectedintervention and list control from the moderators, listowners and list administrator will only be enforced when the rules of the list and general netiquette are violated. Should any of your messages not post to the list within 48 hours, please contact the list owners if you would like explanation of the moderation/refusal. COMBINED! Source: Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., Lupus Fact Sheet Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease which causes inflammation of various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys. The immune system normally protects the body against viruses, bacteria and other foreign materials. In an autoimmune disease like lupus, the immune system loses its ability to tell the difference between foreign substances and its own cells and tissues. The immune system then makes antibodies directed against "self." Lupus is NOT infectious, rare or cancerous. The Lupus Foundation of America market research data show that between 1.4 million and 2 million people have been diagnosed with lupus. (Study conducted by Bruskin/Goldring Research, 1994.) Although the cause of lupus is unknown, scientists suspect that individuals are genetically predisposed to lupus, and know that environmental factors such as infections, antibiotics, ultraviolet light, extreme stress and certain drugs play a critical role in triggering lupus.

Christian Lupus
(WOLF) Innocent XI condemned sixty-five of the propositions denounced by him. On his return to Louvain he was appointed regius professor of theology, the first time a religious had ever held this office. His writings were published in thirteen parts, the first twelve at Venice, 1724-1729, in six folio volumes, the thirteenth at Bologna, in 1742. The first six under the title "Synodorum generalium et provincialium statuta et canones cum notis et historicis dissertationibus" (1665-1673) contain a detailed history of the councils, with many learned dissertations. The seventh part contains: "Ad Ephesinum concilium variorum patrum epistolas, item commonitorium Coelestini papae, titulos decretorum Hilarii papae" (Louvain, 1682). He also wrote critical replies to Quesnel, Boileau, and Gerbais. His writings, however, are mostly collections of historical materials, usually but little elaborated by him. PATRICIUS SCHLAGER.

Spain's Bears don't cry Wolf
an interview with Juan Carlos Blanco
Spain’s wilderness still provides a refuge for large predators such as the Brown bear and the wolf, species which have all but disappeared in most of Europe. Juan Carlos Blanco is a doctor in Biology and one of the founding members of the Brown Bear Foundation, one of Spain’s most progressive private conservation bodies. As well as being concerned about bears he is an authority on the Iberian wolf which is the subject of one of his books and a number of his scientific papers. In this 1995 interview by Damian Martin, Juan Carlos Blanco clears up some of the myths surrounding wolf and bear conservation in Spain. Although population figures have been updated in recent years the main conservation issues remain true today.
What is the current status of Spain’s bear and wolf populations? So you consider that bears in the Spanish Pyrenees will definitely become extinct? How do you see the future for the wolf in Spain?

WHAT IS LUPUS?
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune system disease which causes inflammation of various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood and kidneys. The immune system normally protects the body against viruses, bacteria and other foreign materials. In an autoimmune system disorder like lupus, the immune system loses its ability to tell the difference between foreign substances and its own cells and tissues. The immune system then makes antibodies directed against itself. These antibodies, called "auto-antibodies" react with the "self" antigens to form immune complexes. The immune complexes build up in the tissues and can cause inflammation, injury to tissues, and pain. For most people lupus is a mild disease affecting only a few organs. For others, it may cause serous and even life threatening conditions. More than 16,000 Americans develop lupus each year. It is estimated that up to 2,000,000 Americans have been diagnosed with lupus. Lupus can be difficult to diagnose as the symptoms come and go and mimic other illnesses. The symptoms include transient joint and muscle pain, a rash caused by or worsened by sunlight, sores in the nose and mouth, low grade fevers, hair loss, pleurisy, fatigue, appetite loss and/or painful sensitivity of the fingers to cold. While medical science has not yet found a cure for lupus, new research brings unexpected findings and increased hope each year.

What is systemic lupus erythematosus?
Systemic lupus erythematosus SLE ) is a challenging 'autoimmune' whose wide variety of manifestations makes it a necessary part of the differential diagnosis for children and adolescents with many different presenting complaints. Nonspecific complaints of fatigue and malaise are the most common initial symptoms of SLE in children and adolescents. The typical 'butterfly' rash is present in less than one-third of affected children. Many pediatricians dismiss SLE from their differential diagnosis as 'uncommon in childhood', but positive tests for antinuclear antibodies ANA ) and other findings which warrant inclusion of SLE in the differential diagnosis are in fact quite common. Further with increased recognition of 'milder' cases
