Louisiana Phlebotomist Schools
Louisiana Phlebotomist Schools : A directory of information about Louisiana schools offering phlebotomist training that can help you decide which phlebotomist school is best for you. Phlebotomist schools provide you with training in venipuncture and capillary collection. Phlebotomist schools provide courses in general medical science as well as the writing and computer skills necessary to work as a phlebotomist. Classroom work is complemented by clinical laboratory courses that allow students to work as a phlebotomist in the lab before having to do so on the job. In many cases, this is further enhanced by an internship experience at a site that works in conjunction with the schools. A phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood from patients according to doctor's instructions, separating the blood into different test tubes so that it can be used in different tests, accurately labeling the tubes, and insuring that the right samples are sent to the lab. To do this, the phlebotomist must have very steady hands and be very precise and detail oriented, as errors can cause incorrect medical diagnoses and treatment. The phlebotomist must also have excellent people skills in order to help the patient remain calm and relaxed. A phlebotomist can find work in a doctor's office, lab, clinic, blood center, nursing homes or insurance office. For information on where you can receive phlebotomist training, please check out the list of Louisiana phlebotomist schools

Objectives of the Symposium This symposium will cover policy and research issues related to a systemic reform in the way that Louisiana monitors education performance and delivers necessary resources and services to support school improvement. The six proposed presentations will address various aspects of the development and implementation of a school indicator/effectiveness/improvement program currently being piloted in Louisiana. The School Effectiveness and Assistance Program (SEAP) has research, practice, and policy implications both nationally and internationally because it is an effort to integrate activities associated with three distinct research disciplines into one coordinated, statewide program that

    GENERAL INFORMATION
Louisiana's top science and mathematics students from junior high and high schools across the state will participate in the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Louisiana Regional Science Bowl on February 14, 2004 , at the University of New Orleans. The regional competition is the precursor to the National Science Bowl which will be held at the National 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland, April 29 - May 3, 2004 The state level science bowl, as with the national one, are academic competitions between teams of students who answer questions on topics such as biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, earth and computer science and mathematics. The teams are comprised of four students, one alternate, and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach. DOE initiated the National Science Bowl in 1991 to highlight National Science and Technology Week and to create interest in science in high schools. DOE's nation-wide academic competition, modeled after a program developed at Argonne National Laboratory, promotes the study of science and mathematics and showcases those students who excel in those fields. The National Science Bowl has been endorsed by the National Education Association, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the American Federation of Teachers.
