Studies in American Jewish Literature Studies in American Jewish Literature (SAJL) , the official journal of the Society for the Study of American Jewish Literature, publishes peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book reviews, occasional poetry, and short stories dealing with aspects of the Jewish experience in literature. Published annually, SAJL has issues featuring one writer, such as "Bernard Malamud: In Memoriam" and "The World of Cynthia Ozick," and issues that cut across various authors, subjects, and themes, such as "New Voices in an Old Tradition." Future issues will focus on new American Jewish voices, including Myla Goldberg, Thane Rosenbaum and Allegra Goodman.

Somersite THE WELLS FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE IS STAGED IN OCTOBER EACH YEAR. IN THE CATHEDRAL CITY OF WELLS IN SOMERSET, ENGLAND. In 2004 it will be held between 22nd October and 29th October 2004 LECTURES ARE GIVEN BY PRINCIPAL AUTHORS, POETS, JOURNALISTS, BROADCASTERS AND OTHERS IN THE BISHOP'S PALACE AND OTHER VENUES IN THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY. We also run annual poetry and short story competitions with up to £500 cash prizes. To read the rules and enter for the 2004 competitions click the two links at Left. Printed pamphlets for both competitions will be sent to previous competitors and widely distributed in libraries etc in April 2004. The Prizewinners will be announced during the 2004 Festival. Starting on 19 Jan 2004 and repeated monthly at about 10:30 am Lois Harbinson will be reading selected stories, which reached the short-lists in 2002 and 2003 on BBC Somerset Sound. This can be found on the 1566 Khz AM frequency in Somerset. Also, starting on Monday 24th May, each day at about 11 am there will be a Feature Programme about the Festival. This will last all week.
