Plethora.Net is the Internet Service Provider that offers a wider range of Internet services and options while protecting your online privacy and filtering out unwanted commercial email. SPAM UPDATE: It has come to our attention that spammers have been forging the return address "sales@plethora.net" in bulk e-mail messages that are also spreading the Nimda virus. We've been able to trace the headers as far as a site somewhere in Hong Kong, and we are attempting to gather more information so that action can be taken to stop these messages from spreading. Our servers do not use mailers that are vulnerable to Nimda, and our site is not the source of these messages.
Just Say NO to Spammers!
We combine our own filtering algorithms with those of the Internet-wide MAPS RBL to eliminate the vast majority of annoying spam messages. In addition, our system supports procmail , so you can augment or replace our filters with your own. "Get rich in 30 days with bulk email!" "Check out these HOT XXX pictures!!!"

"Linux Gazette... making Linux just a little more fun!
Linux Compared to Other Operating Systems
By Kristian Elof Soerensen
You might have the feeling that Linux is a real good OS. In this article I will pit some of Linux' features against those of some competing *nix's, and thus identify some of Linux's relative strengths and weaknesses. Linux and it's competitors Not so long ago a frequent Linux question was "Is it really useful or is it just another geeks only OS". Now most insightful people consider Linux as being on par with the best, and the interesting question is "when is it best to use Linux and when should some other *nix be preferred". To help people identify Linux' place in the market, I've made a comparison of ten different OS's eight of them *nix's, where each OS's capabilities in a number of specific areas, are pitted against each other. The comparison is available as an interactive chart at: http://www.falconweb.com/~linuxrx/WS_Linux/OS_comparison.html It's part of a bigger Linux-page called "The Linux Resource Exchange" that holds a lot of other Linux-info such as a searchable HOWTO-mirror, guides to both unofficial and official patches to the 2.0.* and 2.1.* kernels, Linux on workstation hardware pointers, and much more. Take a look at it at http://www.falconweb.com/~linuxrx

coLinux: Linux for Windows Without Rebooting
by KIVILCIM Hindistan Operating system virtualization is popular technology these days. People run different operating systems on top of their existing ones not only for experimental purposes but also for production use. Many different virtualization systems exist. VMware, which runs on both Windows and Linux, may be the best-known proprietary example. It can host many operating systems from Win98 to FreeBSD and different flavors of GNU/Linux. Of course, the free and open source software communities have their own virtualization software. Bochs follows the example of VMware, while Plex86 also does CPU virtualization.

With 'NetVault's' administrators can schedule backups, track data, assign storage devices and manage distributed backups across the enterprise from a single point information regarding backup software for backing up many operating systems and applications. Also provides information regarding backup software for backing up many operating systems and applications.
http://www.linux-backup.co.uk/
The Linux backup software site welcomes you. Linux backup software is a subject that nobody likes to speak about. Everybody assumes it is a chore to carry out. Fortuna are Data Storage Backup Specialists, supplying the correct backup software for your application, environment and operating system platform. Many companies totally forget about Data Backup and when they do, it is a tick box exercise i.e. a tape drive and a copy of backup software. Whilst this is ideal in a small user environment, the more servers added, the more costly and complex tape backups become. Most corporates today have multiple operating system installations. Many run separate UNIX and NT departments as well as running separate tape backup software and tape hardware solutions. Multiply the single server copies of backup software by the number of tape media by the number of tape drives. Add the on-going maintenance costs for tape hardware and backup software. T he costs start to escalate even before adding the number of man hours carrying out restores, checking catalogs and changing media. Many corporates are considering the use of Linux servers for a multitude of applications this includes Data Backup.

Sven Vermeulen has been tasked with drafting a charter for the newly approved Gentoo Foundation. Assets of Gentoo Technologies, Inc. such as the gentoo.org domain, can now be transferred to the Gentoo Foundation. We're glad to see all the hard work that has been put into this process giving some positive results and would like to thank Daniel Robbins and all of the trustees for their hard work.

Slackware ten-year anniversary! Ten years ago, while a student at Moorhead State University , I posted this announcement on comp.os.linux, and the Slackware Linux distribution was born. It's hard to believe it's been a decade already! My deep appreciation goes out to Linus and all the Linux developers, RMS and GNU, and the many other people who have contributed to the Slackware project over the years who have made it all possible. It's been amazing (and fun) to watch how all of this has evolved. So, here's to all of you, and thanks for a great ten years! (hey, maybe that's a good excuse to inflate the version number again! No, just kidding. :-)

Which OS Are You?
By Brian Briggs
Take this quiz to find out which OS most matches your personality. You need to answer all the questions to get an accurate result. You woke up late, and you have to be at work in 30 minutes, not enough time to complete your daily routine. Do you:
Shower, brush your teeth, and shave but ignore speed limits, stop signs and the Geneva convention driving to the office.
Call in sick.
Show up exactly 1 hour later than you're supposed to, and announce that today is your religion's Daylight Savings holiday. You see a woman drop her purse as she gets into her car and drives away. Do you:
Ignore it and go about your way.
Pick up the purse and take it to the nearest police station.
Return the purse less a small reward for yourself.
Track down the woman and return the purse intact.
Use it as an excuse to start stalking her.
