My interests lie in several areas related to Logic, Language, and Computation.
Almost all of the papers I have (co-)written are available online in PostScript, DVI, and PDF format.
More information about the projects I have been working for as a student research assistant can be found here.
This is a list of my talks at conferences and workshops. The transparancies are available online for all of them.
Here, you can find an online version of my cv as well as a PostScript version.
During my studies, I have written some toy programs (parsers, theorem provers, hidden Markov models, ...).

27. ZNet's Chomsky Archive
Chomsky is one of America's most prominent political dissidents. A renowned professor of linguistics at MIT, he has authored over 30 political books, which repeatedly highlight the vital role of the mainstream media in implictly setting the parameters for debate, and Manufacturing Consent for actrocious policies. The searchable archive contains volumes of papers, and several complete books.

http://www.aclweb.org/archive/what.html
The Association for Computational Linguistics What is Computational Linguistics? Simply put, computational linguistics is the scientific study of language from a computational perspective. Computational linguists are interested in providing computational models of various kinds of linguistic phenomena. These models may be "knowledge-based" ("hand-crafted") or "data-driven" ("statistical" or "empirical"). Work in computational linguistics is in some cases motivated from a scientific perspective in that one is trying to provide a computational explanation for a particular linguistic or psycholinguistic phenomenon; and in other cases the motivation may be more purely technological in that one wants to provide a working component of a speech or natural language system. Indeed, the work of computational linguists is incorporated into many working systems today, including speech recognition systems, text-to-speech synthesizers, automated voice response systems, web search engines, text editors, language instruction materials, to name just a few. Two recent books that give an excellent overview of what computational linguistics is about are listed below, along with links to the first chapters of each of the books. This material is provided on the understanding that it is for personal use only. Use of this material downloaded from this website in a course is specifically prohibited.

The research conducted by the MIT Linguistics Program strives to develop a general theory that reveals the rules and laws that govern the structure of particular languages, and the general laws and principles governing all natural languages. The core of the program includes most of the traditional subfields of linguistics: phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and psycholinguistics, as well as questions concerning the interrelations between linguistics and other disciplines such as philosophy and logic, literary studies, the study of formal languages, acoustics, and computer science. FAQ
Q: What is Glot-Bot?
A: Glot-Bot is a perl script which uses genetic algorithms to create English vocabulary. The final product instills the effect that the software emulates a primitive form of artificial creativity. The software essentially creates words on its own. Because of the many CPU cycles required to parse through the chromosomes, created by Glot-Bot, for genuine English vocabulary, that function will not be provided online.
Q: Have any papers been published on Glot-Bot?
A: Yes, please reference:
Kunken, Joshua M. The Application of Genetic Algorithms in English Vocabulary Generation.
Proceedings of the Twelfth Midwest Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science Conference 2001.
