I am Dr. Carolyn Holmes, Supervisor of African American Studies Dianne : Jambo, Hello. I am Mrs. Dianne Partee, Curriculum Specialist, in African American Studies Dept. Carolyn : In todayÂs program, Celebrating Kwanzaa in the New Millennium, we will conduct a Kwanzaa ceremony, reflect on the very significant principles of Kwanzaa, and meet a few members of the Philadelphia community who have celebrated this cultural holiday in many different ways over the years, and will sharewith us their ideas and exciting plans for celebrating Kwanzaa in this first year of the new millennium. To our teachers: Before we meet our guests I have a few Instructional Tips for Philadelphia School District teachers, who are encouraged to use this Culture Connection program to reinforce the DistrictÂs instructional goals and our Curriculum Framworks.
