    138. Chinese-Korean Convertor
Bidirectional conversion bdtween Chinese character and Romanized korean spelling.
    http://www.language-museum.com/ckc/
Chinese-Korean Convertor Download The Chinese-Korean Convertor (CKC) can convert Chinese Character (CC) to the corresponding Romanized Korean Spelling (RKS), or reversely convert RKS to the corresponding CC. This illustrated webpage quickly teaches you how to use CKC. Usage (1) Chinese to Korean: enter 10 CCs at most in the upper textbox, click on the upper [Convert] button, the corresponding RKSs will be displayed in the upper textarea. (2) Korean to Chinese: enter 10 RKSs at most in the lower textbox, click on the lower [Convert] button, the corresponding CCs will be displayed in the lower textarea. Click on [Help] button to display the help information which you are reading now. Click on [Quit] button to terminate CKC. The converted text in both textareas will be saved to the disk file CKC.TXT. An Important Tip CKC is programmed in accordance with the Korean Romanization Regulations issued by South Korea government. It means (1) CKC can completely convert RKS of South Korea, but not RKS of North Korea, (2) CKC can completely convert regular RKS, but not irregular RKS. Troubleshooting CKC works under Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003 Simplified Chinese Edition. If you use other editions, for example, English edition, you must install a Simplified Chinese support software, such as Microsoft Global IME, in order to enter and display CC.

    140. Korea And Its Wonders Plus "The Diary"
Writes about the history, geography, people, cultures, language and korean food, with personal stories.
    http://www.geocities.com/jazlee_77/index.html
var Loaded=false;var Flag=false; The Koreans are people who admire chrysanthemums blooming in the frost, plum blossoms in the snow, pine and bamboo in the wind, and lotus emerging from the muddy bottom of the pond. With such sentiments and resilient racial characteristics, they have created a culture uniquely their own while synthesizing that of others from ancient times.
Throughout her long history, because of her geographical location, Korea encountered external threats to her very existence, often suffering alien domination. However, the Koreans have succeeded in surmounting various hardships and preserving their racial and cultural heritage.
Speaking of Korea which had fallen under an alien yoke, Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), an eminent Indian philosopher and Nobel Prize winner once said:
In the golden age of Asia
Korea was one of its lamp bearers.
    And that lamp is waiting
    To be lighted once again
For the illumination of the East.
The liberated Korea was first partitioned, and then two states emerged there, creating serious problems for the people whose country had been a unified nation for centuries. However, the Korean people have in the recent past brought about a remarkable modern transformation of their homeland. The people in the Republic of Korea, in particular, have achieved an astonishing success in economic development which they proudly call
"the miracle on the Han River,"
