PROGRAMS OVERVIEW ALLIANCE BANKSTREET IKE ... WORKFORCE PEOPLE OUR DIRECTOR STAFF From the experienced gained in four years of working with the use of the Internet in education CIESE has come to the realization that it is important to balance protecting students with the need to utilize the technology to its full potential. For these reasons, rather than advocating policies that completely restrict students and teachers in regards to the content of their web sites, we advocate the following:
Acceptable Use Policies (AUP) - These are basically "contracts" that outline how students can use the technology, what they cannot do with it and the consequences for violating the policy. These should include school web pages and the content that is allowed on them. AUPs should be signed by an authorized representative of the school, students and parents so that all concerned parties are aware of the policy. No Student Names - We recommend that when referring to students on a web page that either their names not be used or only their first names be posted. Some schools have found the use of "nicknames" to be an effective way of dealing with this issue.

It is not just enough to make sure that everyone in the vehicle has a seat belt. As parents we need to ensure that each occupant and especially children are secured in a proper and safe seat. This page contains some general safety tips for car travel and is meant as a guideline only. For more specific recommendations and recall notices please follow the links at the end of this page.
  • make sure that you are using the correct type and size of seat for the child - the following is a brief outline of the National Safety Belt Coalition recommendations (see link below for more details):
Infant seats designed for babies from birth to 20 pounds (birth to 10 kg) and one year of age - rear facing only Convertible Safety seats convert from rear facing to forward facing for toddlers weighing at least 20 pounds to 40 pounds (10 kg to 18kg) until they are approximately four years of age Booster seats used for children who have outgrown Convertible Safety seats but not quite ready for seat belts. - Transport Canada's recommendations are "when children are between 4½ and 8 years old, booster seats are the safest way for them to travel, because they position the vehicle's seat belt properly over the child's body" This is usually between18 kg to 27 kg or 60 to 80 lbs. Portofino Bay Hotel

at Universal Orlando The Portofino Bay Hotel is the pinnacle of luxury in Orlando. The shopping and dining at the Portofino are awesome. The rooms are first class with the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The bathroom is magnificentso large that my whole family of four could use the mirror for brushing and combing in the morning. The buildings are uniquely themed and are absolutely picturesque. You must see this place to believe it! I have absolutely no complaints and I am comfortable saying that this is the best hotel in Orlando. If you are going to Universal, you MUST stay at this hotel because it is nearly perfect.
