CAMP ECOLOGY CAMP ECO SPORTS WINTER CAMP ECO ... FEEDBACK
The gathering place for is the great Aspen outdoors. The forest, meadows, rivers and ponds of the Aspen mountain community are great educational resources. While exploring and discovering, children will learn the importance of these natural areas. Aspen parks are safe places to learn by Eco-games and playing sports.
At Camp Ecology, we believe that caring for the environment is one of the most important lessons we can teach today's children. What children learn today will determine how the earth is cared for in generations to come. Learning about nature at Camp Ecology is a exciting and fun experience for young people. " High Quality program, no matter what it's name or style, is proud of the youngest of it's children. It is geared to honest real-life children - the noisy, messy, active, dirty kind."

To stop the tide of lawless wolf killings in Arizona and New Mexico, Defenders of Wildlife, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and a coalition of conservation and civic groups are announcing a significant increase in the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of wolf killers. The current $20,000 reward is being increased up to for information leading to the conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the shooting deaths of Mexican gray wolves.
" T he challeng e of th e 1990s was to restore the wolf; the challenge of the coming decade is to find an acceptable way for wolves and humans to coexist."

The purpose of WOLFOLOGY.COM is simple: To provide information Information is the key to successful wolf advocacy, and you'll find plenty of it here excerpts from articles on wolf history, wolf ecology, and wolf recovery both in the United States and elsewhere. Over several years I have accumulated approximately 1,500 articles from magazines, journals and newspapers. Eventually, abridgements of many of them will be available here along with, when possible, guidelines on how to acquire the complete article from its original source. (See "Resources" for details.) My hope is that those who are serious about wolf recovery will find this site a valuable source of information. Just because there are now a few small wolf populations scattered throughout the United States doesn't mean the battles are over, or the war won. As the federal government edges closer to delisting the wolf, those populations will face multiplying dangers. We must make sure that the next generation carries on with wolf recovery. And the best way to do that is through education.

"THE KIDS' HOW TO DO (ALMOST) EVERYTHING GUIDE"
Edited by Murray Suid, Monday Morning Books, Box 1680, Palo Alto, California 94302
(www.mondaymorningbooks.com) Sharks are apex predators, the "top dogs" of the marine world. They have a reputation as bloodthirsty killing machines, but this view is distorted. Sharks are not unique in consuming animals. For example, humans are predators, eating cattle, pigs, chickens, fish, and other creatures.
As apex predators, sharks limit the populations of the animals they eat. This maintains the balance of nature. Sharks occasionally do attack humans, but not all attacks are feeding events. Sharks sometimes grab humans by mistake. Other times an attack may protect a shark's space, much as a dog barks at and bites intruders.
The yearly average of unprovoked shark attacks on humans is 75, resulting in about 10 deaths. These worldwide numbers are small given the millions of humans that enter the water. You have a better chance of dying from a bee sting, a dog or snake bite, or lightning than from a shark attack.

EARTH DAY - EVERY DAY
In ancient India, over 2,003 years ago, as annual public works projects, kings and emperors planted trees along the roads to provide shade for weary travelers. Today, people all over the world are working hard to keep our planet green. Earth Day (sometimes called Earth Week) is a time put aside each year to remind us all how important it is to accomplish this goal. These sites explain why it's so important to keep our planet green, and what we can do to help. Have fun learning about Earth Day!
Rosa Stewart School has created a program that both celebrates Earth Day and raises money for their school called Litter Bucks!

92. IdahoPTV's Dialogue For Kids - Ecology Facts
What is ecology? ecology is the study of how living (biotic) and nonliving(abiotic) parts of the environment interact with and depend each other.
http://idahoptv.org/dialogue4kids/season4/ecology/facts.html
What is Ecology?
Ecology
is the study of how living ( biotic ) and nonliving ( abiotic ) parts of the environment interact with and depend each other. Guess you could say it's the study of life on earth! In fact, if you break ecology down "eco" means house and "logos" means to study. So, essentially we are studying about our house in the biggest sense, which is Planet Earth! Everything is Connected!
When scientists study the ecology of certain areas, they call those areas ecosystems . Together the living (biotic) and nonliving (abiotic) factors in an area is called an ecosystem. The biotic, or living, things in an environment would include plants, animals (this includes people), bacteria, fungi and all other living things. The abiotic or nonliving parts of the environment would include things like sunlight, the soil, atmosphere, climate, nutrients and water. An ecosystem can be small like a puddle in your backyard, with only a few
