Since 1983, the Kentucky Center has served as a major arts education resource for Kentucky’s students and teachers, fully utilizing its own facilities and creating innovative outreach programs to further its statewide mission. Arts Education Showcases: For one day, parents and educators get the chance to see for themselves the many artists and performers whose arts education programs are available for students. Showcases are held every March in Ashland, Bowling Green, Crestview Hills, Lexington, Louisville, Madisonville (new site), and Whitesburg. Creative Connections: Every school has different arts education needs. Creative Connections tries to fill those needs in different ways, with arts curricula tailored to each of our participating schools. We help schools in Jefferson, Daviess and Hopkins Counties bring the arts into the classroom in new and exciting ways. Governor's School for the Arts: Bring two hundred of Kentucky’s most promising and accomplished young artists together for three intensive weeks of interaction, training and artistic exploration, and you have a formula for magic. High school students from every corner of the Commonwealth assemble every summer for this exciting program.

Students may choose from a wide variety of both college preparatory and career-oriented courses at the comprehensive-rated high school. Eight Advanced Placement courses provide students the opportunity to earn the Commonwealth Diploma and college credit. Students who are not college bound may choose a challenging career-oriented curriculum based upon the High Schools That Work / Tech Prep programs that offer practical studies to prepare students for the work force after graduation. Tech Prep articulations, such as those that currently provide credit in health care and child care post-secondary studies, continue to be expanded. An Industrial Technology Lab, designed and partially funded by industry and business partners, prepares students for post-secondary training in the areas of design, electricity and electronics, mechanical systems, automation and material handling, quality control and manufacturing processes.

Kentucky Phlebotomist Schools
Kentucky Phlebotomist Schools : A directory of information about Kentucky schools offering phlebotomist training that can help you decide which phlebotomist school is best for you. Phlebotomist schools provide you with training in venipuncture and capillary collection. Phlebotomist schools provide courses in general medical science as well as the writing and computer skills necessary to work as a phlebotomist. Classroom work is complemented by clinical laboratory courses that allow students to work as a phlebotomist in the lab before having to do so on the job. In many cases, this is further enhanced by an internship experience at a site that works in conjunction with the schools. A phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood from patients according to doctor's instructions, separating the blood into different test tubes so that it can be used in different tests, accurately labeling the tubes, and insuring that the right samples are sent to the lab. To do this, the phlebotomist must have very steady hands and be very precise and detail oriented, as errors can cause incorrect medical diagnoses and treatment. The phlebotomist must also have excellent people skills in order to help the patient remain calm and relaxed. A phlebotomist can find work in a doctor's office, lab, clinic, blood center, nursing homes or insurance office. For information on where you can receive phlebotomist training, please check out the list of Kentucky phlebotomist schools
