Understanding The Chinese Art of Contracts: Approach of Fuzzyology
David Drake
Presented the XV World Congress on Sociology
Introduction: Things are produced around us, but no one knows the whence. They issue forth, but no one sees the portal. Men one and all value the part of knowledge, which is known. They do not know how to avail themselves of the Unknown in order to reach knowledge. Is not this misguided? Chuang-tzu (399 - 295 B.C.)1 Over two thousand years ago the Taoist sage Chung-tzu addressed the issue of moving from present knowledge to discovery of the unknown. He posed the question, isnít it misguided not to reach for new knowledge? By doing so one can transcend known reality. It is the authorís view that Fuzzyology brings to the West a way of thinking that has many parallels to Taoism, and therefore many ways of looking into the unknown. The West has had no recognized institution corresponding to Taoism because our Hebrew-Christian spiritual tradition identifies the Absolute-God with the moral and logical order of convention2. In the East there is a very old axiom called the law of three or the law of three principles or the law of three forces that underpins all creation. Ouspensky states, ìthat the teaching of the three forces is the root of all ancient systems. The first force may be called active or positive; the second passive or negative; the third neutralizing.

It is not like a hole in a wall where a mouse slips through, solid and crisp and leading from somewhere to someplace. It is rather like a hole in the heart, an amorphous and edgeless void. It is a heartfelt absence, a blank space where something is missing, a large and obvious blind spot in our understanding of the universe. That missing something, strange to say, is a grasp of nothing itself. Understanding nothing matters, because nothing is the all-important background upon which everything else happens." K.C. HOME WHAT WE TEACH INSTRUCTOR BIO'S SCHEDULE ... CONTACT US STYLE OVERVIEWS (A-Z) ADITHADA An Indian martial art that is similar to Japanese Karate. AGNI KEMPO The World Agni Kempo Organization (WAKO) was founded in 1998 as the leading organization that received from the Great Teachers the Knowledge and a right to develop and partially disclose a system of secret martial art of SHAMBHALA - Agni Kempo, to improve old and to develop new methods and techniques, adapting them as much as possible to extreme life conditions of contemporary man. Teachers of Hierarchy of Light advised to denominate this system on the territory of Russia - Russian Kempo, in Ukraine - Old Russian Kempo. Agni Kempo is translated as Fiery, Lucid or Furious fisticuffs, main aspect of which is self-perfection in mastering the psychical energy. Agni is a term that means psychical energy. WAKO admits as a member everyone, who decided to follow a way of self-perfection for progress of Love, Good and Justice on the Earth. Any person (or group of people), irrespective of his nationality, colour of skin or religious convictions, may become a WAKO member, if he supports basic principles of the Organization. The main thing is to have great desire to learn depths and heights of Agni Kempo, to improve himself through this martial art. AIKIDO Intro: Aikido emphasizes evasion and circular/spiral redirection of an attacker's aggressive force into throws, pins, and immobilizations as a primary strategy rather than punches and kicks.

Peace Process in Congo: "Security" and "Negative Forces" Problems
In its Resolution 1341, the Security Council of the 22/02/01 asked "all parties involved in the conflict, working closely with the MONUC, to work out, from now until the 15th of May, for their immediate execution, proposals establishing priorities with a view to the disarmament, demobilisation, reinsertion, repatriation or reinstallation of all armed factions referred to in Chapter 9.1 of Annex A of the Lusaka Cease-fire Agreement." On the 16/03, during the visit of President Joseph Kabila to the European Community, Xavier Solana entrusted a similar task to the Special Envoy of the European Union to the Great Lakes region, Mr Aldo Ayello. On the 12/02/01, the latter declared in Brussels: "Disarmament of Hutu extremists fighting for the DRC would lead to 'uncover the real interests of the Rwandans' in DRC", and of the Ugandans (cf. the 'Report of the UN Group of Experts on the illegal exploitation of natural resources and other wealth of DRC' sent by Koffi Annan to the Security Council of the 12/04/01). Through their numerous long-lasting contacts on the field, all over DRC and in the countries of the Great Lakes region, and in Kivu in particular, certain organisations, members of the REC, have at their disposal interesting and useful information in this regard. Because at the level of Human Rights the situation in Kivu is worrying, the sources on which this document is based remain generally anonymous.

This is a question with many, many answers-some could say that there are as many styles as there are martial artists. So, we'd like to introduce some Schools and Styles that will give you a basic familiarity with the world of martial arts. The Arts are listed alphabetically.
Important note: This information is true to the best of the knowledge of those who wrote the descriptions of the various arts. If your style has only a small write up or none at all and you have enough information on it to make a good FAQ entry, write it up in the form shown below and send it to pals@ipact.com

According to the probability wheel, "A 2 to 4 degrees Fahrenheit temperature increase will likely bring regional shifts in climate and greater risk of floods, storms, and droughts. For example, Australia and Africa could suffer more frequent and extreme water shortages, while increased flooding might occur in Southeast Asia and along the Mississippi river... Even at this relatively low level of warming, there could be a widespread increase in the risk of malaria and certain other diseases... (Utne.com)
