MAACLink has recently been evaluated by HUD and listed in their HMIS Consumer Guide. You can find this valuable guide at HUD's website: http://www.hud.gov/offices/cpd/homeless/hmis/assistance/consumerguide/index.cfm The Consumer Guide will provide you with a detailed comparison of several HMIS solutions. Keep in mind that this evaluation took place before MAACLink integrated new modules that allow for Bed Night tracking and Homeless Hotline information tracking. All HUD APR data elements have also been added to MAACLink. This makes MAACLink a more complete HMIS solution than ever before! Historical Perspective of MAACLink: Responding to the need among Kansas City's community of social service agencies to share data about clients, resources, and services, MAAC implemented MAACLink in June 1994. MAACLink began as a shared database of emergency assistancefood, utility payments, rent, and the likeand has grown into a multi-faceted system with applications across the spectrum of social services. Because of MAACLink's invaluable assistance to the emergency assistance community, the database was awarded a 1999 "Best Practice" award from HUD.
